Job Description

The Opportunity:
Anderson County Residential Living Center is part of the Saint Luke’s Health System and is located in Garnett, KS. This top performing facility is hiring for a Director of Nursing of this Residential Living Center. This unique residential living center is connected to our Anderson County Hospital and clinics allowing residents and staff quick access to additional care when needed. Quality care for residences and their families is a key priority for this location and this role.
This job functions as the Director of Nursing for the ACH Long Term Care Unit/Residential Living Center and manages a team of Aides, LPNs, and RNs to ensure quality of care for residents, ensure all policies and procedures are aligned with regulatory compliance and drives continuous improvement through quality and process improvement initiatives. As a leader for these staff members, this position will manage scheduling, hiring, mentoring and developing their staff.
Schedule
Monday – Friday, may have to answer calls during nights and weekends to support staff as needed.
The Work
  • Ensures that adequate staff is available at all times to operate the department, periodically assessing the quality of work completed by the RLC staff
  • Acts as a resource to staff, resolves problems, communicates effectively with multidisciplinary staff members and serves as a role model for professional leadership.
  • Makes sure the fiscal viability of the department by developing annual budgets, proactively monitoring expenses and adjusting service accordingly.
  • Guarantees that quality standards are continually achieved by the RLC department by training, supervising and motivating all staff.
  • Makes certain that all department personnel complete and maintain necessary certifications and training.
  • Accountable for the overall coordination of the Residential Living Center.
  • Assesses, develops, monitors and evaluates the delivery of clinical services including nursing.
  • In collaboration with the CEO of Bishop Spencer Place, CNO and other Nursing Directors, establishes a strategic plan and goals for the RLC department.
Experience as a nurse leader in a long term care environment is preferred, but not required. We are looking for someone who is knowledgeable of the various regulatory compliances Long Term Care facilities are required to follow and is passionate about quality patient care to this patient population. We are looking for task oriented structured leader who is able to manage multiple priorities at once and prioritize responsibilities in an unpredictable environment and is empowered by driving continuous improvement efforts to always work on ways to improve care for our patients.
