Director of Merchandising Operations

Smyrna, GA

OPPORTUNITY


The Director of Merchandising Operations will be the primary contact and coordinator on all major administrative and operational projects within Merchandising. The position will be charged with coordinating this activity both internally and externally for the Merchandising Department.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Touch Point to all other Internal Departments:

  • Sales [Customer catalog publications establishment, Customer specific SKU request/need]
  • Marketing [Publication scheduling & data flow, Publication enhancements/improvements]
  • Supply Chain [Drop/Add data processing, Stocking strategies, Coordination of discontinued processes]
  • Pricing Group [List/Cost vendor update and review, Deviated contract and reporting, Promotional pricing]
  • IT [Coordinate and prioritize specific department requests, Resolution of data issues]

Merchandising Operation Task List

  • Rebate reporting and forecast coordination
  • Lead special projects as assigned

KEY REQUIREMENTS

  • Strong analytic skills with the ability to use Microsoft’s Word, Excel, Power BI, PowerPoint, Outlook
  • Thrive in fast-paced environment
  • Willingness to continuously improve, develop, and understand industry best practices and a desire to stay ahead of the curve and at the forefront of innovation.
  • Strong financial, planning, and project management skills.
  • Financial analysis capability
  • Strong cross-functional relationship building with collaboration and negotiation skills
  • Excellent business acumen and judgment, with strong fact-based decision-making and problem-solving capabilities, and a practical ability to draw the right conclusion
  • Is viewed as a highly credible thought partner by corporate executive leadership teams and has a track record of driving value
  • Demonstrated leadership and management experience
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • 8+ years in strategic roles within Merchandising or Buying, background with a retailer, distributor, or manufacturer preferred
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent plus advanced understanding or reselling product
