Director Of It - Biotechnology

MUST HAVES:

• Biotech, pharmaceutical, and/or life sciences industry knowledge
• Someone who can be a true leader and expert in their space
• Ability to roll up sleeves and get your hands dirty
• 7-15 year of experience – knowing IT soup to nuts!
• Data Storage architecture and Analysis is a must have

Description:

The Director of Information Technology will report to the Chief Financial Officer and manage and direct the company’s information technology (IT) operations, ensuring the department provides efficient and effective technical support service.

Responsibilities:

• Oversees security of systems, networks, and enterprise information.
• Establishes efficiency and efficacy standards, providing recommendations for improvement of corporate technology portfolio.
• Develops and maintains relationships with external IT vendors and service providers.
• Leads development and implementation processes for the organization’s IT systems.
• Develops relationships with other departments and serves as an advisory for technology integration and development within the business.
• Analyzes IT infrastructure and systems performance to assess operating costs, productivity levels, security, redundancy, maintenance requirements, and other metrics and needs.
• Recommends and implements business continuity improvements to minimize disruption to business operations.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
• Facilitates IT security audits and investigations.

Qualifications:

• Experience in cloud data management and migration of services from onsite to cloud service platforms.
• Excellent interpersonal skills.
• Understanding of SOX audit requirements and review of SOC reports and related materials.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Proficient in Microsoft 365 and Azure cloud services including service design and implementation.
• Excellent analytical and management skills.
• Through understanding of IT and practical applications to support the company’s goals.
• Proficient in latest technology for IT systems and management.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Understanding of technology requirements in a scientific environment.

Education and Experience:

• At least ten years of experience managing and developing IT infrastructure, services, and vendors in a scientific research environment.
• Bachelor’s degree required; relevant industry certifications desirable
• Scientific cloud data management and service design experience is highly desirable.
