Job Description

The Director of Information Technology is responsible for the smooth and efficient operation of the Tandem Health Information Technology Department and reports to the Chief Information and Technology Officer (CITO). This includes management of all Information Systems infrastructure and hardware associated with the organization. The Director of IT also provides oversight for all systems in the organization to include hardware, equipment, and users.
The Director of IT will exercise responsibility over the organization's systems equipment assuring efficient, reliable services that are designed to meet the needs of patients, providers, the public, and staff. Such responsibilities will be achieved through delegation from the CITO and/or coordination with other managers within the organization. Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Maintains awareness of information technology trends and makes recommendations as appropriate
  • Assists with the preparation of the IT budget, tracks IT expenditures and prepares reports as requested
  • Manages the day-to-day operations of the organization's Information Technology including, but not limited to, servers, telephony, networking, storage, disaster recovery, switches, routers, DSL, firewall appliances, workstations, tablets, wireless APs, applications and connectivity to all Tandem Health approved network devices
  • Ensures documentation on departmental processes are created and maintained
  • Manages the IT Asset Management program to include procurement, deployment, maintenance and disposal of IT hardware and software
  • Performs other related duties incidental to the work described herein as may be assigned or delegated by the CITO
  • Maintains and updates the Disaster Recovery Manual and ensures back-up processes are meeting all business needs
  • Supervises IT staff by assigning tasks, approving time cards, training/coaching, and promoting professional development
  • Reports issues or business concerns promptly to the CITO
  • Oversees and delegates responsibilities for implementation of technical projects and tasks in alignment with departmental and organizational goals
  • Oversees processes to maintain the overall performance and security of the organization's Information Technology to ensure resources are optimally meeting the health care needs of Tandem Health's patients

Qualifications:
Education and Experience:

  • A Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology (or related field of study) preferred
  • A minimum of 4 years' experience related to Information Systems knowledge/support and leadership/supervisory experience required
  • An equivalent combination of relevant education and/or experience will be considered

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Advanced leadership skills with experience in Information Technology planning, project management, and budgeting
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
  • Experience with Windows, Group Policy, Meraki, Veeam, and Azuresolutions
  • Experience managing and leading IT infrastructures across different technologies, especially in SaaS environments
  • Knowledge and experience in deploying, configuring, and managing Nutanix hyper-converged infrastructure solutions
  • Must possess the ability to utilize good, sound judgment and work under stress in a busy environment
  • The ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies and vendors in a diverse environment
  • Knowledge of current trends and developments in information technology
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time efficiently
  • Flexible as to the changing needs of the organization
  • Ability to be a team player at all times
