Amarr, a part of ASSA ABLOY – the global leader in opening solutions, is hiring a strategic, employee-focused Human Resources leader who will be responsible for managing, directing, and administering programs, policies, and services for the company. The major areas covered are organizational planning and development, employee relations, compensation and various employee services.


In this position you will:

  • Assist in development of formal succession planning program and roll out to manufacturing, distribution, and the corporate office.
  • Perform investigations and resolve escalated employee relations issues.
  • Partner with multi-state distribution and manufacturing HR support teams to identify areas of improvement and simplification within our systems.
  • Formulate and recommend HR Department policies, objectives, and employee relations practices necessary to establish a positive employer-employee relationship and promote a high level of employee morale.
  • Identify legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting HR Department function (e.g., OSHA, EEO, ERISA, Wage & Hour) while monitoring exposure of the company.
  • Oversee maintenance of compensation guides, manuals, handbooks, brochures, etc. to ensure compliance and promote HR Department policies, procedure, and resources.
  • Work with teams to ensure high employee engagement and succession planning.
  • Partner with Talent Acquisition team to formulate plans to address staffing needs and creating a culture of “Employer of Choice”
  • Develop and write policies and ensuring companywide compliance to all corporate policies and local, federal and state laws.
  • Manage company compensation program with on-going adherence and positioning of jobs.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Must have the ability to exercise considerable judgment and discretion in establishing and maintaining good working relationships with Executives, appointed boards, department directors, and other governing agencies.
  • Must possess considerable knowledge of management-labor relations and the principles, practices, and procedures of personnel administration.
  • Must possess general knowledge of laws and regulations relating to Human Resources administration.
  • Must be able to research information and analyze data to arrive at valid conclusions, recommendations, and plans of action.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Human Resources, Communications or Business and specialized training in organizational planning, compensation, and preventive labor relations.
  • Must possess thorough knowledge in the specific areas of merit systems, job content, qualifications, educational and training requirements of a wide variety of public occupations and wage and salary administration.
  • Must be results and people oriented, but have the judgment and ability to balance other business considerations. Maintain a service oriented composure, yet be assertive and persuasive.
  • Eight to ten years’ experience gained through increasingly responsible management positions within Human Resources.
  • Must be able to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing, with diverse personalities in a tactful and flexible manner.

This position is Monday - Thursday from 7:30am – 5:30pm and Friday 7:30am – 11:30am. Benefits, 401k, paid time off, and paid holidays, along with other fantastic benefits!
