Newhouse is hiring a Director of Grant Funding + a contract Grant Writer.


POSITION SUMMARY

The Director of Grant Funding is responsible for and oversees the management of all current grants. This includes proper collection of data and timely reporting on results for grant funded programs, researching and soliciting new grant funding opportunities, and providing leadership to staff responsible for managing grant funded programs.

This is a full-time position. The Director of Grant Funding will report to the Chief Development Officer. Preferred applicants are deadline-driven team players with high attention to detail, strong communicators, and possess the ability to prioritize and multitask effectively.


PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

GRANT ADMINISTRATION:

• Oversee a portfolio of current grant funded programs.

• Collect and organize relevant data to be used for necessary grant tracking and reporting.

• Assisting with the execution of the development department's strategy.

• Research and identify grant funding opportunities.

• Writing, submitting, and managing grant proposals and reports in a timely manner.

• Work in partnership with grantors to maintain current grant funding.

• Build relationships with current or potential funders, as necessary.

• Ensure grant rules and policies are being followed.

• Furnishing prospective funders with supporting documents.

• Manage governmental audit process for grants received.

• Maintaining records in hard copies and computer database (Neon).

• Participating in monthly development team and supervisor meetings.

• Manage grant writing staff.


PROGRAM OUTCOMES:

• Mastery of Program Outcome Measurements.

• Working with program staff, ensuring the implementation, and planning for administering grant programs, activities, and reporting of outcomes.

• Working with program staff and creating outcome surveys relevant to program goals.

• With program staff, create pre and post tests tracking client success.

• Monitor and evaluate program achievement against target goals.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

• This position is a member of the development team and will work with staff on special events as needed.

• Assist with training, onboarding and recruitment as needed.

• Complete any required or mandated training and/or professional development.


EXPERIENCE, ABILITIES + QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience in domestic violence preferred but not required.

• Minimum 3+ years of grant writing experience.

• Experienced with Government Grants.

• Experienced in developing program budgets.

• Strong research skills.

• Proficient with MS Office, Word, and Excel.

• Excellent knowledge of fundraising information sources.

• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

• Knowledgeable in virtual meetings and document sharing platforms.

• Adhere to national standards in fundraising ethics and confidentiality.

• Ability to conduct prospect research with online research databases and public data.

• Strong people skills.

• Flexibility in solo versus group work hours.

• Excellent organizational skills.

• Ability to meet deadlines.
