JOB SUMMARY

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Director of Fulfillment and Transportation to oversee all aspects of our company's order fulfillment and transportation operations. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of managing high-volume order fulfillment operations and optimizing transportation logistics to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of products to customers. This role will require strong leadership skills, strategic thinking, and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.

BASIC FUNCTION

The Director of Fulfillment and Transportation is both a strategic and hands-on leader that will oversee all aspects of a company's order fulfillment and transportation operations. This includes developing and implementing new methods to achieve cost savings while managing warehouse operations, order processing, inventory management, picking, packing, shipping, and delivery. The Director of Fulfillment and Transportation is responsible for developing and implementing strategies to optimize fulfillment and transportation processes, negotiating transportation contracts and rates with carriers, and maintaining relationships with transportation vendors to ensure timely and reliable delivery of products. Additionally, the Director of Fulfillment and Transportation must develop, monitor, and analyze key performance indicators, such as order accuracy, order cycle time, and delivery performance, and make recommendations for process improvements. Overall, the Director of Fulfillment and Transportation plays a critical role in ensuring that the company's customers receive their products accurately, on time, and at a reasonable cost.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES

• Oversee and manage all aspects of our company's order fulfillment and transportation operations, including warehousing, order picking, packing, shipping, and delivery.

• Develop and implement strategies to optimize fulfillment and transportation processes, reduce cost, including inventory management, order processing, and shipment tracking.

• Manage and mentor a team of fulfillment and transportation professionals, providing guidance and support to ensure team members are meeting their goals and objectives.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including customer service, sales, purchasing and marketing, to ensure that orders are fulfilled accurately and on time.

• Monitor and analyze key performance indicators, including order accuracy, order cycle time, and delivery performance, and make recommendations for process improvements.

• Negotiate transportation contracts and rates with carriers to ensure cost-effective and efficient transportation of products.

• Develop and maintain relationships with transportation vendors to ensure timely and reliable delivery of products.

• Ensure compliance with all transportation regulations and safety requirements.

• Ensure Federal and State safety regulations are understood and adhered to in warehouse operations.

• Maintain a high level of customer satisfaction by ensuring on-time and accurate delivery of products.

• Ensure optimal staffing levels are in place at all times.

• Will also manage the three remote warehouses.

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS

• Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, logistics, or a related field.

• 10+ years of experience in fulfillment and transportation operations management, with at least 5 years of experience in a leadership role.

• Strong understanding of supply chain management, inventory control, and transportation logistics.

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make data-driven decisions.

• Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and mentor team members.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.

• Demonstrated ability to negotiate transportation contracts and rates with carriers.

• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

• Knowledge of transportation regulations and safety requirements.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
