Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY

The Director of FP&A will act as a key liaison between finance, accounting & other strategic departments to develop improved processes & systems. With a focus on automation, reporting & data management, the Director of FP&A will play a vital role in actively managing department level budgets & communication.

OBJECTIVES

  • Facilitate actionable reporting & dashboards to key stakeholders
  • Manage staff including hiring, training, and coaching
  • Extract insights based on strategic objectives
  • Work with technology department to develop core FinTech infrastructures needed to scale reporting efficiently
  • Create automated processes for strategic departments
  • Own full cycle budgeting process & create monthly reporting package for executive & ownership review
  • Organize and structure company financial data
  • Monitor and report on department budgets, targets and other KPIs
  • Provide Ad Hoc analysis and recommendations
  • Provide financial and operational information, expertise and insights to organization through reporting, data management & technological integrations
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly financial reporting packages, activity reports and financial forecasts for clients
  • Identity key business drivers and relevant metrics for performance
  • Contribute to our internal analyst team to design, develop and operationalize analytics dashboards
  • Prepare financial forecasts for short- and long-term planning and align strategic financial metrics across all departments to drive results


COMPETENCIES

  • Intermediate understanding of GAAP
  • Ability to leverage data visualization tools to clearly articulate information
  • Ability to individually pull data with SQL
  • Experience using Business Intelligence such as PowerBI or Tableau
  • Ability to gather and skillfully analyze financial data and identify the information needed to solve a problem effectively
  • Strong understanding of financial models, budgets and financial reporting packages
  • Expert fluency with Google Sheets/Excel formulas and functions
  • Strong capabilities for developing and presenting analyses and insights to senior management
  • Proficient understanding of QuickBooks and/or Netsuite


EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business or related field, or equivalent work experience
  • At least 6 years’ work experience in Finance and Accounting


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
