Summary

Under the direct supervision of the CFO, the Director of Financial Planning and Analysis is responsible for the cash flows, long-term projected financial statements, and budget variance reporting. The candidate plays a significant role in long-term planning, including initiatives geared toward operational excellence, act as am ambassador and liaison for the Finance department, with other Arizona Cardinals departments, stadium entities, and the League, while advancing a culture of excellent and positive work environment.

Primary Job Duties

The Director of Financial Planning and Analysis will have daily responsibilities including, without limitation the following:

• Prepare and maintain the 5-year projected cash flow and profit and loss statement and perform scenario analyses per the CFO request
• Provide monthly reporting on ticketing, hospitality sales, and sponsorships to seniors executives
• Participate in the annual audit for all items associated with players
• Perform quarterly forecasts and prepare the annual budget for profit and loss and cash flow
• Provide Monthly variance analyses for financial statements
• Ensure sales commissions are calculated and paid in a timely manner
• Create a reliable and repeatable revenue forecast and budget by partnering with various departments across the organization, including Sales and Hospitality
• Prepare various reports and projections that are used for senior executives and the League office
• Track Player contract transactions for accounting and payroll purposes, prepare the annual player bonus roll forward reports, player cash flow timing, player free agency and draft transactions, and work with Director of Football Administration on proposed player cash budgets

Qualifications/Requirements

• Strong understanding of GAAP
• Demonstrated experience with preparing and analyzing financial statements
• Experience with preparing monthly and quarterly financial results
• Strong background in Accounting, business, or economics
• Proficient in excel and other forecasting tools
• Experience with creating budgeting and forecasting process improvements
