JOB SUMMARY: The Director of Finance is r esponsible for all aspects of Financial Operations including Cashiering, Count Teams, Credit, Casino Accounting and Financial Reporting, establishes and maintains efficient controls for all areas of responsibility while ensuring compliance in all aspects for Harrah’s New Orleans, leads, motivates, and inspires finance team to achieve customer service targets and employee engagement goals.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Ensures that effective policies and procedures are established and maintained regarding handling and custody of property funds.
• Maintains effective working relationship with all outside contacts including regulatory agencies.
• Reviews financial statements, cash flow analysis, and forecasts in accordance with GAAP.
• Adheres to all regulatory, company and departmental policies and procedures.
• Provides management with accurate and timely information and analyses to be utilized in controlling the operations and achieving the business plan of the property.
• Acts as a role model to other employees and always presents oneself as a credit to Harrah’s and encourages others to do the same.
• Leads, motivates and inspires finance team to achieve customer service targets and employee engagement goals.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Minimum 7 to 10 years experience in a key finance or operational role within the gaming/hospitality industry.
• Broad knowledge of casino internal and accounting controls, policies and procedures, and regulatory requirements.
• Minimum of 4 years college, degree in Accounting, MBA or CPA preferred.
• Strong organizational, communication, administrative, and managerial skills.

PHYSICAL, MENTAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS: Must be able to maneuver to all areas of the casino. Must be able to lift up to 10 pounds and carry up to 5 pounds. Must be able to bend, reach, kneel, twist and grip items while working at assigned desk area. Must have the manual dexterity and coordination to operate office equipment, including a 10 key adding machine, PC computers, fax machine, and photocopier. Must be able to work at a fast pace and in stressful situations. Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English. Must be able to respond to visual and aural cues.
