What You'll Do

The Director of Field Engineering will provide strategic leadership to the Field Engineering and Quality teams that interface with our ever-growing customer base. They will be a key member of the Technology Services team and they will interact directly with the senior leadership in all disciplines within the organization as well as lead a team of managers, analysts, and compliance specialists.
The role will be responsible for ensuring delivery, setup, upgrades, go-live support, and on-site post support for all Class II servers and related Infrastructure. The position also entails managing the field engineering budget, resource modeling, IT asset management, and ensuring all software in the field is compliant.

This individual needs to have strengths in identifying and/or articulating a vision, creative problem solving, collaborating with a diverse cross-functional team, and steering a team through projects for successful outcomes. The ideal candidate needs to be a self-starter, who can operate at a high strategic level as well as be willing to “roll up the sleeves” to advance project work as needed.

Essential Job Responsibilities

  • Provide useful analytics, metrics, and data trends of Field Engineering to key stakeholders.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Continuous improvement and sustaining Customer Advocacy scores for Field Engineering Department.
  • Continue quality first & critical thinking mindset with all projects and making recommendations for continuous improvements.
  • Directs and controls the activities of a broad functional team including IT field professionals, compliance specialists, analysts, and managers across the US.
  • Working closely with customers on implementation, IT infrastructure requirements, post support, and field issues.
  • Responsible for the team procuring, building, implementing and supporting Class II Servers and Software at over 300+ locations across the US.
  • Consistently assesses and identifies opportunities based on multiple variables to provide strategic guidance, by ensuring in depth knowledge of all functional areas and current business objectives.
  • Escalating, managing, communicating issues to Development, Senior Management, and customers accordingly.
  • Has overall control of planning, staffing, budgeting, managing expense priorities, and recommending and implementing changes to methods
  • Oversee all stages of the deployment cycle of Class II Infrastructure and software including requirements analysis, system testing, implementation, and systems support.
  • Proactively Identify opportunities to improve processes, reduce waste, increase productivity, and implement new technologies.
  • Proactively ensuring that Hardware and Software inventories are maintained to support the entire class II customer base and sales forecast.
  • Working closely with key leaders in Sales, Finance, Field Operations, Aristocrat Support Center, and Development on forecast and business objectives.

What We're Looking For

  • This position will require registration with the Nevada Gaming Control Board (NVGB) and other gaming jurisdictions in which Aristocrat operates.
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, electronics or related field, or its equivalent and 15 years of work experience or equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
  • Must have strong analytical, critical thinking skills, combined with strong multitasking abilities.
  • A strong understanding of class II gaming methodology, slot software, jurisdictional and compliance requirements, system bases, operating systems, peripheral firmware, casino management systems, and configuration requirements.
  • Minimum of 8 years’ experience in the casino industry slot machine and casino management systems experiences preferred.
