Job Description

GRIP is a full service, multi-state cannabis company. We do business in every aspect of the industry including real estate, licensing, owning and operating facilities, product development and sales.

Our expanding organization is looking for ambitious, driven individuals who are ready to take over the cannabis world with us.


Job Summary:

The GRIP Director of Operations oversees all construction, financial, and operating functions at our facilities. They are responsible for leading and managing key projects at our 3 farms and 1 indoor grow facility. We are in need of a high-level manager to oversee and guide our expansion into Michigan and other strategic states. Our headquarters is located in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan, however, this position will require approximately 75% time spent at our farms and grow located in Western Michigan. The Director of Operations has 3-5 direct reports. The direct reports oversee between 10-15 permanent roles, as well as up to 150 seasonal workers during our peak harvest times June-October.


Responsibilities:

  • Lead execution of those projects while adhering to schedule and budget.
  • Optimize operational efficiency by developing metrics and leading team to meet and exceed goals.
  • Monitor building maintenance and cleanliness.
  • Report to, and work closely with, the Company President (s).
  • Performs other related duties as required.
  • Create and maintain various project budgets and schedules.
  • Lead team in providing high level service to all customers in relation to order fulfillment, accounts receivable, and sales.
  • Coordinates with other support departments to ensure successful operations.
  • Lead by example. This is a hands-on management position in which you will regularly be at the facilities driving key projects and implementing business management processes and with the team.
  • Develop business plans and budgets for key projects at current and future facilities.
  • Develop strong relationships with key vendors and contractors.
  • Work toward the accomplishment of goals consistent with the GRIP strategic plan and vision.
  • Assist in developing and implementing business processes.
  • Manage internal resources and contractors to be efficient and cost-effective.
  • Ensure all facilities follow state specific compliance regulations.
  • Assist in producing high quality product, including but not limited to passing compliance tests.


Education and Experience:

  • Strong project management skills with knowledge of operations and production management.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Business Administration, or related field required; M.B.A. is strongly preferred.
  • Advanced Microsoft skills required, with a focus on Excel. Outlook, Teams, and Project experience a plus.
  • Ability to interpret financial data as needed to set production goals. Possess strong ability to measure against KPIs.
  • 10+ years managerial and supervisory experience.
  • Experience across multiple functions including operations, finance and sales.
  • An energetic, positive, passionate, forward-thinking individual with expertise in start-ups/fast growth companies/fast paced environments is a plus.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to use new technologies and software systems.
  • Manufacturing experience is a plus.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Cannabis and/or agriculture industry experience is desired.


Job Details:

Annual salary $125,000 with 20% bonus potential
