Job Title: Director of External Communications and Public Relations

Location: Hybrid (3 days per week in-office) | Philadelphia

Position Type: Full-time

Salary: $150,000-$200,000 depending on experience.

This dynamic life sciences company is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Director of Public Relations and Communications to lead strategic communications efforts. This crucial leadership role will be responsible for shaping and implementing their communication strategy, enhancing our brand presence, and fostering positive relationships with stakeholders, clients, and the public. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in life sciences, pharma or tech and thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

• Build proactive communication programs that continue to elevate their brand awareness and reputation in the industry
• Work across Global Communications & Brand function to and with business partners to identify and gather stories, trends, and information and incorporate them into proactive media programs, as well as to provide counsel on media engagements
• Drive objectives, strategies as well as execution for the company’s media relations efforts, collaborating closely with business and regional communications partners to ensure measurable outcomes
• Develop and execute communication strategies and proactive programs that generate results
• Monitor industry trends and competitor activities to ensure company strategies remain relevant and effective

Qualifications:

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with an eye for detail and accuracy
• Someone who can observe the competition and design proactive communications plans to stay ahead of the curve
• Ability to work and thrive in an environment where accountability and prioritization is imperative
• Life science experience is preferred as well as pharmaceutical, financial, and tech industry experience
