Job Summary and Qualifications: As the Director of the Emergency Services Department, your role will be to ensure consistent high-quality patient care by managing service, growth, development, personnel, and resource allocation. Your responsibilities will include:


  • Coaching subordinates, providing feedback, and facilitating individual development plans
  • Enforcing standards of emergency department care and ensuring compliance
  • Advancing the patient experience agenda in the Emergency Department
  • Developing, implementing, and evaluating emergency services programs
  • Active participation in committees and ongoing communication
  • Overseeing performance improvement programs and operational excellence
  • Performing other assigned duties
  • Identifying and solving real/potential problems affecting the service
  • Building relationships, networking, and mentoring potential future leaders
  • Adhering to Human Resource policies and effectively communicating departmental information
  • Supporting recruitment processes and securing staffing talent
  • Monitoring compliance with regulations, policies, and safety measures


Qualifications:


  • Valid registered professional nurse license in the state of practice
  • Leadership experience (preferred)
  • 3+ years of experience in emergency services (required)
  • ACLS, PALS or ENPC, and BLS certifications
  • Fully vaccinated for COVID-19 (unless exempted)
  • Master's degree in Nursing, Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, or related field (preferred)
  • Bachelor's degree in nursing (required)


Reporting Structure:


  • Fully staffed with 75 FTEs across all 3 locations
  • Reports to CNO
  • 3 managers (1 for each FSED, 1 for main ED)


Additional Information:


  • Recent manager vacancy with coverage in place
  • Strong physician and employee engagement
  • 25 nurse openings across all 3 locations
  • Patient experience improvement is a focus area


Compensation:


  • Sign-on bonus and relocation assistance are negotiable but not advertised
  • Salary range: $96K - $126K
