Job Description

The Director of Development & Communications is responsible for implementing and managing a comprehensive donor development/fundraising/communications program. Job duties include developing, executing, maintaining, and evaluating development procedures in the area of financial growth, and sustainability. Additional responsibilities include managing social media, creating and distributing press releases and other communication pieces, and overseeing the CCC Teen Board (with the assistance of a Teen Board Coordinator).The Director of Development reports to the Executive Director.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

·Works with Executive Director to develop and implement fundraising vision/strategy for CCC and incorporate a sustainable stewardship plan

·Develops and implements annual operating budget for development

·Researches, prepares, writes and submits grant applications and other materials for other funding opportunities

·Prepares fundraising reports for Board of Directors

·Represents CCC in the community, networks with community groups and maintains current knowledge of community resources

·Participates in public speaking engagements and United Way of Central Oklahoma Partner Agency activities on behalf of CCC

·Directs communications strategy and production of collateral materials, such as direct mailings and brochures

·Oversees website development and content

·Ensures donor database is accurate and all donors are properly acknowledged for their generosity in a timely manner

·Other duties as assigned


Full Time/Salary commensurate with experience

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Proven experience in fundraising, networking, communications and grant writing.

Effective leadership and organizational skills

Outstanding skills in interpersonal communication and community relations

Exemplary character

Excellent knowledge of office management and computer skills especially Microsoft applications such as Word, Excel, and database operations.

Experience using DonorView or similar donor management database

Excellent public speaker and oral communicator

Ability to work independently and as part of a team


Degree and four to six years successful fundraising experience preferred
