Organization and Team Summary:

St. David's Center is regional leader in child and family development, working to create a healthy, vibrant society in which every member fully contributes to its success. We offer therapeutic, educational, and support services, including mental health and pediatric therapies, autism treatment, home visiting, an inclusive preschool, and disability services. Over 4,000 children and families access these services at our two early intervention centers in Minneapolis and Minnetonka, more than 30 partner sites, and hundreds of homes across the community.

Our Community Relations and Development team is responsible for marketing, communication, public relations, advocacy, and fundraising for the organization. We hit enrollment targets, reach audiences with relevant information, position St. David's Center as a thought leader in child development and early intervention, advocate for changes in public policy and increased public funding to benefit children and families, and raise $2.3 million annually.

Position Overview:

Specific job responsibilities include:

  • Oversight of market research, customer experience, audience research, and communications practice development.
  • Public relations strategy, media outreach, and content development, to increase awareness of St. David's Center and the issues at the forefront of our work.
  • Strategy, plan design, messaging, and work direction related to organizational positioning and growth of the brand.
  • Legislative advocacy strategy, message development, and plan implementation, to secure federal and state funding to expand access to services.
  • Oversight of all internal and external communications and marketing, to increase engagement of our full range of audiences (parents/caregivers, referral sources, business partners and other organization stakeholders, prospective and current employees, and donors), including strategy, work direction, budget, contracted resources, content development, collateral, and metrics.
  • Community Relations budget oversight and management.

The Ideal Candidate:

The ideal candidate is an experienced and proven strategic leader and skilled communicator with accomplishments working across multiple communication channels and experience developing and implementing innovative and effective communications and marketing plans. Seeking a well-rounded communications leader with 10 years of experience in most or all the following areas: marketing/communications strategy development and oversight, particularly emphasizing digital marketing, key message development; brand management and promotion, and metrics development; legislative affairs and advocacy; public relations, media outreach, and editorial development; and budget management and oversight. Experience in the health care industry preferred.

Schedule: Full-time, Monday through Friday.

Compensation (Pay/Benefits): The pay range for this position is dependent upon qualifications and ranges from $82,660 to $91,830. This position is benefits eligible, including health and dental insurance, health savings account with an employer contribution, flexible spending accounts, and retirement account with matching contribution. Job Qualifications:

Education: BA in Marketing, Business, or related field.

Experience: At least ten years of experience in communications and marketing, including strategy, multi-channel marketing, key message and content development, and public relations. Experience in legislative advocacy preferred.
