Job Description

The Bridge Family Center is seeking a Director of Clinical Operations to oversee it's mental health outpatient clinics and youth and family services divisions of the organization. This position is responsible for the overall operation of the Outpatient Psychiatric Clinics and Youth & Family Services, which includes staffing, compliance, licensing and regulation, managing revenue, and improving efficiencies. Works closely with the Executive Director and Chief Financial Officer in planning, implementing and administrating a successful outpatient clinic model in accordance with the mission of the Bridge. Serves as a member of the Leadership Team and Performance and Quality Improvement Committee (PQI).

This position will be based out of West Hartford, but will require regular visits to all the outpatient clinics, currently located in West Hartford, Avon, and Rockville.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

I. Program Management

  • Assure that clinic operations are functioning in a manner in which revenue and productivity goals are met or exceeded.
  • Work closely with Director of Community & School Services to meet requirements of town and WHPS contracts. Develop new programs to meet the needs of the town or WHPS.
  • Develop, maintain, and supervise an effective, cohesive staff team. Inclusive of coordinating, recruiting, hiring, scheduling, supervising, evaluating, and training staff.
  • Ensure compliance with all required licensing and state regulations, including credentialing requirements.
  • Oversee HIPAA compliance within the outpatient clinics.
  • Review expenses and recommend ways to improve efficiencies and lower costs.
  • Build and maintain relationships with providers.
  • Manage compliance with all Bridge records being completed in an appropriate and timely manner.
Oversee all clinic operations including, but not limited to, clinic hours, therapist schedules, caseloads, intakes, initial assessment scheduling, wait lists, cancellations, copay collections, billing, and overall facility management.

    II. Administrative Duties

    • Monitor financial expenditures and maintain financial reports according to Outpatient Clinic and YFS budgets.
    • Develop and maintain system to manage caseloads, referrals, quality assurance and all required data.
    • Prepare statistical and narrative reports for submission to funding agencies.
    • Oversee program data collection in an effort to measure program effectiveness.
    • Work with Executive Director in developing proposals and related applications for funding.
    Travel required between Bridge clinics on a regular basis.

      Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Healthcare Management/Administration, or Business Administration. Master’s Degree highly preferred. A minimum of five years’ experience in practice management, particularly working in an outpatient behavioral health setting (preferred). Experience working in a non-profit environment preferred. Strong working knowledge of Electronic Health Records systems, particularly on an administrative level required. Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Excel, a must. Must also have experience in administrative management and staff supervision.

      Skills: Demonstrates excellent organizational and interpersonal skills. Has a working knowledge of mental health care billing. Ability to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing. Must also be a team player, and culturally sensitive.
