Job Summary:
The Utah Jazz are hiring a Director of Content to join the basketball communications team. The individual will be responsible for leading and managing a team of content creators, primarily focused on overseeing and fulfilling requests from basketball communications and basketball operations, in addition to supporting ownership needs, social media, and broadcast. Candidates must have a strong background in shooting and editing, both in video and photo formats, in addition to demonstrated experience in strategic creative storytelling and talent development. The role also requires an exceptional ability to produce quality work within tight timeframes, a high level of professional decorum and confidentiality, frequent travel with the team including all road games and league events, and the flexibility to cover unexpected events that arise throughout the year.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Capture daily content for social media and broadcast as needed.
- Travel to all road games (41+), annual league events (All-Star, NBA Draft, Summer League, etc.) and any additional required travel that may arise throughout the year.
- Create content for the team day to day for internal use only.
- Oversee and fulfill content requests for basketball communications and basketball operations, as well as ownership, upon request.
- Coordinate and manage production staffing needs.
- Assess production needs for and film/edit daily media availabilities, marquee events, all Jazz games (home and away), and press conferences.
- Assist with special projects for the team, front office, and ownership.
- Design, create, and execute strategic plans to promote players, ownership, team, and Jazz organization across a variety of mediums.
- Mentor and lead emerging creatives in the organization.
- Lead and manage a team of content creators.
- Coordinate with departments across the organization on a variety of content needs, both owned and sponsored, including company-wide efforts
- Build and manage an extensive archive of behind the scenes content.

Technical/Production Qualifications:
- Understanding of and interest in exploring new technology as it relates to still photography and video.
- General comprehension of different delivery mediums and specs (such as social media, TV, and more).
- Ability to multitask and meet tight deadlines.
- Experience editing quick turnaround projects.
- Experience with various 4K cameras and audio equipment, camera stabilizers, lighting, grip, and electric equipment.
- Experience conceptualizing and executing creative storytelling strategies.
- Experience using Apple products and macOS.
- Ability to procure and maintain equipment.
- Well-versed in frame rates, codecs, resolutions, and other technical specifications of cameras and video outputs.
- Proficient in the Adobe Creative Suite (such as Premiere Pro, Audition, After Effects) and Adobe Photoshop.
Other Qualifications:
- On-set production experience is a plus.
- Ability to travel 80+ days a year.
- College degree preferred.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience leading and managing a team.
- Minimum of 8-10 years of demonstrated professional experience working in a fast-paced production environment.
- Sports emphasis, team background preferred.
- Flexibility in schedule (including nights, weekends, and holidays).
Physical Demands:
- Ability to lift 50 lbs.
- Must be able to sit, stand, bend, walk, and climb stairs for long periods of time.
