We are searching for a highly motivated Director of Bank Operations to oversee all functions associated with banking systems, maintenance, services, and deposit operations. This position works closely with Bank leadership and is responsible for the strategic direction of banking operations, including deposit operations and treasury management.
The Director of Bank Operations responsibilities:
- Ensures Bank/Treasury Management Operations maintain appropriate staffing levels as the Bank grows, identifying, developing, and retaining top talent to ensure critical roles and operational areas are filled.
- Develops and maintains all policies and procedures related to Bank Operations and ensures compliance with all applicable banking and State/Federal regulations.
- Main point of contact for audits and examinations and oversees resolution of exceptions in a timely manner.
- Acts as a liaison and lead sponsor/manager for appropriate vendors; establishes open and communicative relationships with vendors and provides regular reports and updates across the Bank.
- Identifies opportunities to improve operational structure utilizing digital capabilities, existing policies and procedures, process workflows, and/or back-office systems to increase automation, operational efficiency, and accuracy.
- Oversees the development and implementation of new deposit products and services including the review and update of policies and procedures. Ensures necessary training and communication on changes are delivered to impacted employees.
- Maintains knowledge to manage and direct the tasks performed by the Bank Operations Teams effectively and efficiently.
- Manages complex technical and business activities that have high operational, reputational, and financial risk in various areas of Bank Operations and ensures internal controls are in place to mitigate those risks.
- Analyze emerging trends in the banking industry and leverage new technology to improve Bank Operations; work with various divisions of the Bank to implement and monitor the progress of those services and technologies.
- Develops actionable business strategies and plans that ensure alignment with Service Level Agreements and short-term and long-term objectives of business partners.
- Manages a variety of projects related to systems, efficiencies, and new technologies. This may include vendor/product identification and vetting and contract negotiations to ensure appropriate resource allocation and/or staffing exists to test, implement, and maintain systems effectively.
- Develops and implements metrics to monitor the efficiency and accuracy of Bank Operations functions and uses the gathered information to identify opportunities for improvement.
- Coach, develop, and conduct performance management activities with direct and indirect reports.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Able to focus on key priorities and thrive in a complex and ever-changing environment.
- Bachelor’s degree required, and 10 or more years of experience in a similar role.
- Detail oriented and highly organized
- Able to multi-task and prioritize to meet deadlines.
- Willingness to learn and contribute to the company’s financial growth and profitability.
- Able to work both independently and as an integral part of a team.
- Experience working with technology to drive efficiency.
