We’re looking for a Director of Augmented Reality (AR) Ranking for our Perception organization here at Snap Inc!


What you’ll do:


  • Lead development and execution of a robust ranking system for AR lenses
  • Communicate ranking results to relevant stakeholders, including the AR development team and senior leadership
  • Work closely with our AR development team to create and maintain a system that objectively measures and ranks AR lenses based on various factors including engagement, user satisfaction, and usability
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of the ranking system and make recommendations for improvements while solving complex indexing, infrastructure, ranking and modeling problems.
  • Grow and mentor a team of exceptional software engineers, data scientists, machine learning engineers, and/or and technical leaders


Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:


  • Able to prioritize duties and work well on your own
  • Strong Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, and/or Data Science fundamentals
  • Background working with both internal and external partners
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with a high attention to detail


Minimum Qualifications:


  • 10+ years in developing ranking systems or algorithmic-based systems
  • BS/BA in a technical field such as Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, Machine Learning, or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of experience managing a team


Preferred Qualifications:


  • Someone who loves to learn, and is passionate about helping others
  • Deep knowledge of and experience working with a diverse group of engineers and/or data scientists
  • Track record of delivery in rapidly changing, highly collaborative, multi-site, multi-stakeholder environments
  • Background in Ranking, Artificial Intelligence, and/or Machine Learning
  • Experience with data science and Internet-scale infrastructure
  • Experience managing teams of at least 30 engineers or data scientists
  • Demonstrated experience leading a large team at scale and managing AI/ML/DS/Engineering with an eye to driving efficiency
  • Experience partnering with cross-functional leaders across a globally distributed organization and exercising sound judgment


Compensation:


In the United States, work locations are assigned a pay zone which determines the salary range for the position. The successful candidate’s starting pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions. These pay zones may be modified in the future.


  • Zone B: The base for this position is $290,000- $413,000
  • Zone A (CA, WA, NYC): The base for this position is $305,000- $435,000
  • Zone C: The base for this position is $259,000- $370,000


This position is eligible for equity in the form of RSUs
