Job Description
The IT Director provides guidance and vision throughout the entire technology development life cycle including requirements, development, configuration management, testing and deployment and support. Leads a team of IT resources to prioritize business needs and deliver new technology to support these emerging needs.
General Responsibilities
  • Directs team and overall IT business operations to achieve company goals
  • Oversees and determines timeframes for major IT projects including system updates, upgrades, migrations and outages
  • Directs the activities related to Information Technology in the company, involving the definition, development, maintenance and operation of technology
  • Oversees and reports on allocation of IT budget
  • Advises on the selection of hardware, software and supplies
  • Identify areas of improvements and concerns and accordingly develop action plans
  • Transparently communicating throughout the IT organization and business

Experience / Qualifications
  • Strategic thinking - Ability to turn strategy into action, to see the big picture and use this ability productively
  • A university degree required (i.e. Bachelors degree) or equivalent relevant work experience.

  • Decision making - Ability to think through possibilities and make sound decisions with appropriate degree of risk; knows when he / she has enough data to make an informed decision

As IT Director, Operational Excellence you will be responsible for partnering with Global Manufacturing, Supply Chain and Quality organizations to develop and execute an IT Strategy and Roadmap aligned with business needs and priorities. Sensata has global Manufacturing locations/lines that are at various levels of maturity which will benefit from technology standardization of Manufacturing Execution System (MES), visualization tools, SIOP tools, Quality Management Systems (QMS), etc. In this role, you will be the key IT leader driving continuous improvement and program execution to improve the efficiency of our Global Operations. You will be the team leader across the manufacturing locations, serve as a single point of escalation for the broader Operations organization and assist with the prioritization of work that is needed to run day to day operations. Modernization of our Manufacturing, Supply Chain and Quality is a top priority for Sensata in our journey towards Industry 4.0 and this will be a critical role to help achieve it.
