The Opportunity
Management Leadership for Tomorrow (MLT) is seeking a Director, Systems, and Technology Operations to lead our growing team of Systems Analysts and Product managers. You will be a key player in implementing and supporting MLT’s cloud-first technology strategy by ensuring that our platforms and tools continue to serve our organization’s evolving needs. You will help manage a broad spectrum of applications and data flows, ranging from candidate admissions and online program delivery to our Salesforce-centric data architecture, and will support our analytics efforts through data reporting and visualization. In addition, the MLT product team (responsible for two vital proprietary digital platforms) reports to this person. This role is a great opportunity to help a growing social enterprise further scale its impact and improve its operations by improving and broadening our internal tech infrastructure and building our team members’ capacity for leveraging technology to achieve their goals more efficiently.
As an ideal candidate, you will possess an innate curiosity about technical operations and have the desire to improve them within the context of MLT’s ambitious social mission. You have strong technical skills, strong team management skills, and a deep knowledge of emerging technologies, resulting from your experience with leveraging CRM platforms, managing websites and online communities, and/or structuring an internal employee knowledge management system.
This position will be based in our Bethesda, MD headquarters and will report to our Vice President of Technology and Analytics.
Responsibilities:
- Advancing and supporting a range of cloud-based services that maximize efficiency, promote consistent data collection, and reduce duplicative work between MLT systems, including Salesforce CRM, program technology platforms, surveys and assessments, and finance and HR software (10%)
- Supporting data cleanup and collection across various systems (5%)
- Managing Tech Team operational touchpoints with teams across the organization through life cycles of program recruitment, matriculation, ongoing management, and alumni engagement (25%)
- Ensuring and optimizing day-to-day IT functionality across the organization, including the management of internal teams that oversee upgrades, security, performance, distribution, training, and monitoring of alerts and third parties (10%)
- Primary product lead for MLT’s two proprietary AWS-based applications (MLTx and Racial Equity @ Work) coordinating product marketing and management with external and potentially internal software development partners (25%)
- Leading day-to-day operations between Tech Team support members (Systems Analysts and IT Manager) and teams across the organization via triage and management of incoming support requests (25%)
Qualifications:
- Experience managing small to medium-sized teams
- Demonstrated ability to communicate well, understand business objectives, and translate them into technology solutions
- Experience working across a broad portfolio of network, application, telecommunications, data integration, and web platform technologies
- Bachelors degree required
- Excellent technical skills demonstrated knowledge of emerging technologies and enthusiasm around using technology to solve business problems
- At least 10 years of experience with technical operations and digital technology, such as web service and cloud-based CRM management platforms (Salesforce experience required)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and in collaboration with colleagues
MLT is committed to providing a safe and healthy workplace, and to modeling the highest degree of health standards for our Fellows, our Partners, and the communities we serve. We expect all MLT employees and contractors to be fully vaccinated - including the booster regimen - against the coronavirus (COVID-19), in accordance with ADA accommodations. Visitors to MLT’s office in the District of Columbia, Maryland, and Virginia (DMV) locations or remote work sites should also expect to comply with this requirement.
Please apply to a position with MLT ONLY if you are willing and able to prove that you are fully vaccinated against the coronavirus, regardless of work location.
