The Director, Global Supplier Quality & Performance will be a key partner in championing the global supplier quality activities and positively driving a practical approach to supplier quality. A primary responsibility of the role is to grow and evolve our suppliers’ quality performance for our factories, field and customers, driving effective improvement, mitigating risks and issues with urgency.
Job Responsibilities
Drive continuous improvement in the supplier quality through a combination of:
  • Training internally and externally
  • Tool and process enhancement change management
  • Supplier relationship reviews
  • Partnering with supply chain and other functions’ improvement initiatives related to suppliers
Establish a strong sense of community in the global supplier quality function sharing best practices and identifying subject matter experts
Engage in escalations from the regions, supporting with expertise and leadership as needed
Lead/facilitate steering team and council meetings to identify and prioritize supplier quality transformation initiatives.
Support the PDP Process through participation functional readiness assessments.
E3 committee participation as a member representing Supplier Quality
Manage & develop the skills of the Strategic Supplier Quality & Development group in Shanghai
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality, Business Administration, Process Management, or a related field required; master’s degree preferred
Qualifications
  • Exceptional project management skills, including establishing measurable standards and comparing with actual results
  • Ten years or more of experience working with suppliers
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence others at all levels of the organization
  • Ability to present ideas effectively and concisely, both written and verbal, to all levels of the organization both internally and externally.
  • Experience as a change agent at multiple organizational levels
  • Strategic and critical thinker with the ability to influence others without authority, even those with conflicting priorities balancing thought leadership / and read across with strong results-orientation
  • Demonstrated ability in developing sustainable programs that create actionable information.
  • Skill at generating detailed and timely reports and presentations for management review
  • A highly analytical focus and demonstrated problem-solving skills
