- Develop in-depth knowledge of the lab's area of research, with a strong understanding of the latest trends, technologies, and advancements.
- Coordinate with development teams to run an efficient test regimen.
- Build and reinforce a culture where safety is at the forefront of everything we do
- Build a team culture for continuous improvement and an environment of fun. One where people want to come to work everyday. Build a can-do culture where difficult and ambiguous tasks are tackled and team members don’t get stuck.
- Oversee the creation of a highly skilled technical team that will run a portfolio of industry-leading test facilities.
- Ensure an effective strategy to ensure establishment and/or maintenance of interconnection to local electric grid.
- Support training programs for Fluence and customer personnel.
- Be responsible establishing new labs, and for managing established labs in domestic and international locations.
- Provide effective oversight of the lab teams, to include safety programs, team training, and KPIs for financial and operational performance.
- Guide the evolution and development of the organization including headcount planning and recruitment.
- Cultivate a unified, growth-mindset culture through effective leadership and performance management / goal-setting
- Develop a high-performing management team and culture through coaching, mentorship, facilitating peer support, and utilizing external educational resources. Grow managers into senior managers, senior managers into directors.
- (Bonus – experience a plus, but not required) Talent and People Leadership: You have experience building and managing high-performing teams. You are a proven people leader, great coach and motivator and excel at developing talent and advancing careers.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering discipline, with development and performance testing experience.
- Strong communication skills, including the ability to effectively convey complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- (Bonus – experience a plus, but not required) Experience in driving innovation, developing research strategies, and translating research into practical applications.
- (Bonus – experience a plus, but not required) High-level execution: You've structured a test lab organization and have planned out how teams need to grow and evolve. You are able to cultivate collaborative cross-functional relationships in order ensure effective leadership, are adept at identifying gaps in processes, are a natural problem solver, and you are not afraid to change course when necessary.
- Willingness to travel: You will be establishing and/or managing a portfolio of labs in domestic and international locations. Must be willing to travel up to 25%, including international travel.
