A role with Fulfillment Operations means a big opportunity to continuously elevate the guest and team member’s experiences to excel Target’s digital services and remain ahead of our competition. Leading this fulfillment team will provide you an opportunity to work in a space with rapidly changing guest and operational needs.

As the Director, Fulfillment Operations – Network Operations and Performance Management, you will lead a team focused on enabling 1900+ stores, fulfillment centers and flow centers to deliver millions of fulfillment orders to guests every day. Your team is the primary day to day connection to all fulfillment node leadership teams and is responsible for ensuring that each node have what they need to deliver for the digital guest. Your team will be responsible for four main operations functions.

First, your team will be responsible for working with various partners across GSCL, Merch, and Finance to build unit volume forecasts by location by day, develop tools and resources to help each node plan and manage fulfillment workload, payroll, staffing, and workload management decisions. Secondly, your team is responsible for both day-to-day and event network management, ensuring that each node can fulfill all orders, keeping the network volume moving smoothly, and maintaining guest experience at all times. You will be responsible for working with product and tech teams to build a sustainable network management system capable of handling volume management through 2027. Your team will also be responsible for serving as the communications and training intermediary to stores teams for on behalf of the broader fulfillment team, supporting reporting creation and usage, creating and improving training and working with communications resources to inform and support store teams on behalf of all fulfillment initiatives. Finally, you and your team will be the primary contact to stores, FC, and Flow Center to create a feedback loop between field leaders and the fulfillment network management to inform decision making and best practices. You will be responsible for sharing back to HQ partners any relevant field feedback, providing input and suggestions to fulfillment initiatives on behalf of fulfillment nodes.

About You:

  • Proven experience creating, facilitating and consulting with senior leadership while influencing large scale strategies
  • Ability to operate and adapt in an ambiguous and rapidly changing work environment
  • Expert problem solver with an ability to structure complex & ambiguous projects into meaningful components and create a plan to solve them
  • Energized by ambiguity and comfortable leading teams, partners, and key stakeholders through it
  • Experience influencing across all levels with ability to effectively lead through conflict and competing priorities
  • 10+ years of demonstrated experience building and leading a diverse, inclusive, and engaged team
  • Four-year college degree or equivalent experience
  • Demonstrated ability to translate large quantities of data into practical applications for key stakeholders
  • Proven ability to develop and implement strategies in an ambiguous and matrixed environment
  • Ability to establish and maintain cross-functional working relationships across multiple levels
  • Outstanding interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills, able to interact with all levels of leadership and simplify communications for large audiences and senior leaders
  • 5+ years of retail operations or stores management, preferably in fulfillment services
  • Experience in managing priorities and able to work in high-intensity situations with tight deadlines

This position will operate as a Hybrid/Flex for Your Day work arrangement based on Target’s needs. A Hybrid/Flex for Your Day work arrangement means the team member’s core role will need to be performed both onsite at the Target HQ MN location the role is assigned to and virtually, depending upon what your role, team and tasks require for that day.
