Job Description
  • Coordinate the district’s Threat Assessment Training with the District Leadership Team.
  • Review and make recommendations for the District’s Crisis Management Plan.
  • Collaboration with local police and fire departments regarding emergency response protocols as well as other matters of mutual concern.
  • Organizes and lead the Annual Safety training with local fire, police and administration.
  • Leadership and management skills sufficient to lead a staff and collaborate with colleagues
  • Understanding of and appreciation for current student and staff safety issues/concerns
  • Term: 12 months
  • 5+ years of security experience
  • Compliance with local, state, and federal school safety mandates.
  • Strong background in emergency management, de-escalation techniques, and crisis management.
  • Organize the District’s Safety Drills.
  • Ability to handle crisis situations
  • Ability to walk several flights of stairs.
  • Ability to work inside of buildings and outside throughout the district’s grounds.
  • Ability to lift up to 70 pounds.
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with students, staff, and community members.
  • Ability to drive to various locations throughout the district.
  • Manage the work activities of campus monitors and security throughout the district.
  • Hours: Generally, 7:30 AM until 4:00 PM daily but hours are flexible to include evening and special events
  • Good physical fitness and mobility to move around various school buildings and campuses throughout the district.
  • Other tasks as assigned by the Assistant Superintendent for Finance and Operations
  • Ability to relate to and interact effectively with diverse populations
  • Review and make recommendations concerning maintaining and updating the district’s physical security equipment - including but not limited to: security cameras, exterior doors, safety blinds, etc.
  • Strong knowledge of school safety laws and security management

  • 5+ years of management experience
  • Ability to work with local law enforcement, first responders, and building/district administration.
  • Assist with hiring, training, and supervising all district campus monitors.
  • Oversight of the key management and distribution.
  • Collaborate with building and district administrators on budgets, policies, procedures, and infrastructure focused on district safety and security.
  • Excellent interpersonal, problem solving, organizational, written and communication skills
