Title – Director, Demand Planning
Location – Massachusetts (Hybrid; 2/3x on-site weekly)
OVERVIEW:
Our client is a a multi-billion-dollar consumer products company who is widely known for having exciting 5-star products that make life easier.
The Director Demand Planning is responsible for delivering a highly reliable forecast and driving speed to insights in order to deliver the best service to customers at the lowest cost. This role is also responsible for identifying opportunities for process and tool improvement; this role may be responsible for leading continuous improvement initiatives.
Here are some of the EXCITING things you’ll get to do:
- Be part of the transformation by partnering with leadership to develop and lead implementation of supply chain planning process to future improve the supply chain and drive enhanced planning maturity. Develop a culture of accountability around maintaining key supply chain inputs that reflect actual performance as it exists in the current state.
- Develop talent by building a structure and hard-working team that delivers exceptional service by short-and long-term horizon planning subject area, proactive reporting and clear systems and processes to drive accountability.
- Partner with Commercial Sales and Finance to deliver a highly reliable monthly forecast. Interpret business drivers that affect forecast/supply chain performance and communicates the impact. Serves as subject Matter expert for monthly consensus meetings.
- Drive business results by managing statistical modeling to project future demand and integration of market intelligence. Identify anomalies in forecasting model and make recommendation to improve forecast quality.

This This Director, Demand Planning must be a proactive, action-oriented individual with the ability to quickly solve problems. . Ideally, this Demand Planner will bring:
- Experience in consumer products industry is a plus.
- Unpretentious confidence. Communicate transparently – listen actively and speak respectfully.
- An entrepreneurial spirit and comfort working in a dynamic, fun, fast-paced environment.
- 10+ years demand planning or supply chain experience.
- Experience with demand modeling, demand shaping, and allocation.
- Demonstrated capability of partnering with and influencing across functions, including Commercial Sales, Category Management, and Finance.
- Strategic leader and critical thinker who makes analytical and data-driven decisions informed by leveraging multiple sources of internal and external consumer, competitor, market, product, and financial data.
- Operate with a strong work ethic and an unrelenting resolve to follow through and meet commitments.
- A demonstrated willingness to learn, roll-up their sleeves and set an example for the team as a “doer.”
- Experience with both B2B and D2C a plus.
- Successful track record of developing reliable forecasts that incorporate baseline modeling, event lift, pricing elasticity, new product launches, retailer insights, and competitive activities.
- Experience with JDA/RedPrairie or demand planning system is required.
- Strong business and financial acumen with a proactive, solutions-oriented approach to risk management.
- Strong analytical skills and proven experience in using data (KPIs) in a measurable way to achieve targeted results that are relevant to the organization.
- Exhibit strong problem-solving skills, attention to accuracy & ability to reconcile various data elements.
