Position Overview:


The Director of Enterprise Privacy is principally responsible for establishing and administering the Company’s Privacy Program to manage privacy risk. This leader will oversee ongoing privacy program management and operationalization of legal and regulatory requirements while providing the business with effective challenge, subject matter expertise, oversight and strategic and tactical advice in managing privacy risk. The Director of Enterprise Privacy is also responsible for ensuring Discover’s privacy principles are embedded in policy, procedure and practice throughout the organization in accordance with the Privacy Policy.


Responsibilities:


  • Provides SME support for vendor management program, document and data retention program, Compliance Testing, regulatory exams and documentation requests, consumer complaints
  • Evaluates compliance with new laws and regulations, such as California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), or revised laws and regulations, ensures action plans are developed and executed to manage the risk
  • Participates in committees and working groups with privacy touchpoints
  • Oversees the Company’s privacy program by developing and implementing the enterprise policy and procedure framework to mitigate privacy risk. Evaluates the effectiveness of the program, policies, processes and controls, prioritizing and driving enhancements to privacy practices across the enterprise
  • Reviews and advises on new or revised business strategies, initiatives, and projects to ensure risks are effectively mitigated.
  • Designs enterprise privacy training plan and SME support for employee training
  • Participates in developing, implementing and ongoing compliance monitoring of business activities to ensure privacy concerns, requirements and responsibilities are appropriately managed. Responsible for the team both performing and monitoring core compliance activities such as digital privacy oversight, execution of GDPR and CCPA data subject rights requests, Privacy Event Response process, external data sharing requests, do not call registration and more
  • Evaluates new initiatives, revised business strategies and projects for potential privacy impact and helps to design appropriate mitigants


Minimum Qualifications


At a minimum, here’s what we need from you:


  • 8+ years of consumer compliance, risk management, legal, including people management or related minimum
  • Bachelors in Business or Finance required


In Lieu of Education Experience:


  • 12+ years of consumer compliance, risk management, legal, including people management or related minimum


Preferred Qualifications


If we had our say, we’d also look for:


  • 10+ years of consumer compliance, risk management, legal, including people management or related minimum
  • Masters in Law or Business preferred
  • CRCM Preferred
  • 2+ years of managing managers preferred


Compensation:


The base pay for this position generally ranges between $147,000.00 to $223,400.00. Additional incentives may be provided as part of a market competitive total compensation package. Factors, such as but not limited to, geographical location, relevant experience, education, and skill level may impact the pay for this position.
