The Director of Clinical Trial Recruitment will be responsible for leading the strategy for our Clinical Trial Recruitment (CTR) programs. Working in close collaboration with the Client Relationship Leader and a supporting account management team, this person will oversee the development and implementation of clinical trial recruitment and retention solutions that may include planning and strategy development, patient research and insights outputs, branding and positioning, concept and material development, direct to patient outreach and advertising, digital and social strategy, advocacy relations, referring physician outreach, patient and HCP engagement, patient retention and both pre- and post-study participant communications. The Director of CTR will also contribute to overall clinical trial best practices initiative and processes and mentors less experienced members of the interwoven team.

The Director, CTR will have a deep understanding of clinical trial patient recruitment and retention best practices for designing and deploying global programs across a broad range of therapeutic areas, conditions and study designs. This person will have an ability to communicate effectively internally as well as with clients and other external partners and an eye for flawless execution that delivers ROI. An ability to effectively manage, mobilize and mentor teams is critical to success in this role.

Job Responsibilities

  • Participate in agency activities and professional development opportunities; communicate areas for improvement.
  • Contributes CTR-specific best practices and insights to inform wholistic patient recruitment and retention strategies based on client and study objectives, challenges and opportunities.
  • Partners with intermedia team to develop strategic programs that meet client and clinical trial enrollment goals.
  • Works with leadership to expand strategic thinking and identify growth opportunities.
  • Supervise junior staff and play an active role in their professional development.
  • Interprets, analyzes and effectively describes advertising plans and metrics in relation to clinical trial study goals.
  • Serves as the clinical trial recruitment and retention subject matter expert on client clinical trial projects.
  • Influences and pursues new business opportunities and contributes to proposal development and client pitches.
  • Analyzes and interprets clinical trial documents, information, and data for project scopes, plans, and interwoven team deliverables (i.e. review of study protocol, enrollment metrics, etc.)
  • Participates in workflow reviews and approvals of all project deliverables and provides CTR sign-off for all deliverables.
  • Demonstrate and nurture agency values and principles.
  • Understand and execute the Spectrumtific Method/other client service methodologies.
  • Meets deadlines, manages priorities and effectively communicates to team members, vendor partners and supervisors.

Desired Skills and Qualifications

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in life sciences, advertising, marketing, communications, public relations, or related fields
  • Resourceful and effective problem solver
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, etc.)
  • Ability to oversee multiple projects simultaneously
  • An extreme attention to detail
  • At least 5-7 years of clinical trial patient recruitment and retention experience working in a global clinical trial environment
  • Ability to excel in a team environment as well as work independently
  • Deep understanding of clinical trial subject matter, industry landscape
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; strong presentation skills
  • Professional demeanor

The anticipated salary range for this position will be $110K-140K. Salary is based on job-related factors such as: years of relevant experience, qualifications and/or certifications. Spectrum reserves the right to modify this pay range at any given time.
