If you are an experienced Direct Support Professional, we want to hear from you! Weekend positions available! We are seeking caregivers with experience serving individuals on the Autism spectrum. Serving a young man with Autism with dedicated support in his apartment, assist with activities of daily living so that he can live as independently as possible:
  • Redirect behaviors while remaining assertive, calm, and compassionate
  • Assist with cooking, cleaning, other household needs
  • Accompany to scheduled activities, appointments
  • Facilitate social interaction and communication with family and in the community
  • Assist with grooming and hygiene
  • Ensure proper medication administration
What we ask of you:
  • Previous experience working with individuals on the Autism Spectrum and in Positive Behavior Supports and response to interfering behavior
  • A passion for inclusion for those with disabilities in all areas of life
  • Technical expertise with Macintosh Platform such as an iPad for Alternative Augmentative Communication (AAC)
  • Positive, cheerful, with a good sense of humor
  • Energetic and active – someone who enjoys going to live music, community and volunteer events, and being physically active on a regular basis
  • College Degree preferred
  • Valid driver’s license in good standing
  • Reliable transportation with valid insurance coverage
  • Patient with strong communication, planning and organizational skills
  • Successful clearance of local and/or state background check
  • High stamina to be able to do indoor and outdoor activities such as hiking, riding bike, skiing and swimming
