Job Description
The Director of Sales will report to the Vice President of Sales to create a strategic vision for a


Group Sales Team that will use the property sleeping rooms and function space to maximize property revenues especially during the lower demand times of Sunday to Thursday.


The Director of Sales will create standard operating procedures in accordance with corporate brand stands and partner with other departments to ensure an excellent experience for our


groups and their attendees. High standards of leadership and professionalism is expected when working with the sales team. Interdepartmental and customer relationships.


  • Exhibit conduct in accordance with all Division of Gaming Enforcement regulations of the NJ
  • Recruit and manage Sales Managers and administrative employees ensuring service oriented


and performance driving culture


  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to ensuring responsible gaming and responsible alcohol service by discreetly notifying appropriate managers of concerns and observations.
  • Responsible for department reports, signing contracts and bringing new business to Hard Rock
  • Provide leadership and mentorship in the development of aspiring individuals and departments.
  • Manage and maintain Amadeus (formally Delphi) Sales and Catering System with the assistance of the our property IT Department and Corporate Delphi Administrator
  • Create development plans and best practices to increase customer service scores
  • Maintain brand standard collateral & on line marketing to showcase Hard Rock Hotel & Casino’s outstanding customer service and property facilities for meetings, conventions and group stays
  • Work with Director of Catering /Convention Service and Corporate personnel to create department standard operating procedures and training guides in accordance with corporate and brand standards
  • Demonstrate actions and behaviors that reinforce the Company’s Mission and Values.
  • Ensure prompt and discreet notification to managers and/or the Ethics Hotline of any observation of illegal acts or internal ethics violations.
  • Develop meeting and convention sales business plan that addresses our strategies and plans for driving revenue, market positioning, cross selling to other Hard Rock properties and other state goals
  • Communicate relevant happenings for the region, city, property and corporate to the Team
  • Maintain adaptable, flexible approach to Hotel Sales in an evolving market
  • Actively participate in industry, city wide and property operation meetings


Bachelor’s degree in Business, Hospitality, or related area of study required. A minimum of five (5) years of experience in a 4-Diamond or equivalent casino/hospitality environment in a management capacity overseeing Hotel Sales. Preferred experience as a Director of Sales, Rooms Executive, General Manager, or equivalent level. Preferred background with the following systems Agilysys Lodging Management System (LMS), Delphi, Microsoft Office Suite, Kronos. Must have a strong grasp of Microsoft Excel.


Additional Requirements


  • Director of Sales will be expected to travel as needed.
  • Commitment to routinely go above and beyond in the accomplishment of position responsibilities in an effort to play a role in the achievement of organizational goals.
  • Must have a proven track record of providing excellent Guest Service Scores in a luxury hotel or 4-Star rated casino resort. Must also be able to lead a quality improvement team to address areas of potential guest opportunity.
  • Must have experience developing and preparing departmental budgets and forecasts.
  • Effective communicator in public arenas.
  • Ability to work flexible schedules, including nights, weekends and holidays.
  • Must have a strong understanding of processes and procedures involving Hotel Operations and Casino Marketing.
  • Ability to deliver a service level which creates an atmosphere that makes our guests want to return, giving each guest a positive, memorable entertainment experience.
  • Must present an image of excitement, enthusiasm, and outgoing personality, while being able to project a professional demeanor, both on property and when traveling on company business.
