Job Description

Looking for a Hands-

  • Could be a stepping-stone to a General Manager role
  • Machine Shop
  • Over 100 people and 5 direct reports.
  • Will manage Assembly & Test, ME & Programmers, Maintenance, Facilities.


Major Accountabilities

  1. Develops and maintains operations business plans to include all program requirements, labor requirements, cycle times, production costs, and infrastructure
  2. Develops production sales forecast monthly, identifying all risks and opportunities, to achieve meeting the Annual Operating Plan (AOP)
  3. Ensures all OEM production deliveries are met through on-time execution of ERP schedule manufactured jobs
  4. Drives a continuous improvement/lean mindset throughout the production floor, participating in lean events, Kaizens, etc.
  5. Ability to assimilate ERP data, develop predictive trends, & provide guidance to internal/external customers as to “as demonstrated” production, future rate loads, & capacity planning
  6. Major data contributor to monthly Sales, Inventory, & Operational Planning (SIOP) process
  7. Coordinates manufacturing activities with all other functions of the organization and suppliers to obtain optimum production and utilization of human resources, machines, and equipment
  8. Actively work with machine shop, facility maintenance, manufacturing engineering/CNC programming team, and assembly & test to drive effective problem-solving and conflict resolutions to minimize costs and prevent operational delays
  9. Works with the Engineering team to transition development products into full-rate production through the “Operations Launch” process & ensures “design for manufacturing” input is an integral part of new product development
  10. Works with the Program Management team to help manage customer demands in all regards from normal “on-purchase order” programs to ensuring production’s participation in recovery of “Red to Green” programs
  11. Maintain a high state of operational readiness of the facility, preventative maintenance, and oversight of all facility and property upkeep.
  12. Determines responsibilities of assigned organizational & staff positions to accomplish business objectives
  13. Achieve and maintain a thorough understanding of site product lines and all the constituent processes required to manufacture them
  14. Written process owner for operational process documents utilized in the AS9100 system
  15. Provide reports as necessary to the site General Manager

Physical Limitations

  • Work may require sitting/standing for up to 8 hours per day, writing, & occasional business travel.


Minimum Education Required

  • BS degree in Business, Engineering, or another related field; Six Sigma or successful Lean experience
