Job Description

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

  • Manage, maintain, create content for, and actively update all of Dwelling Place’s web content, newsletters, news releases, social media posts, and other communications materials. Ensure all products represent the highest quality while monitoring analytics to inform marketing efforts.
  • Plan and develop fundraising and marketing strategies, including coordination of fundraising events.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain a communications calendar and social media calendar. Including regularly updating communications content and seeking design and functionality improvements.
  • Support grant writing and foundation reporting as needed.
  • Provide regular reports on communication and marketing progress toward goals to the COO, CEO, Marketing Committee, and the board. Including tracking and analyzing data to seek continuous improvement.
  • Design, create, edit, and produce marketing materials and digital communications such as project profiles, posters, PowerPoint presentations, publications, and newsletter articles for the board, CEO, and leadership team to communicate DP’s key initiatives to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Develop and ensure brand identity that furthers strategic plan and mission through updates to brand standards, education of staff and board members, and creation of tools, templates, and other collateral.

Supervisory Responsibilities

This job has no supervisory responsibilities. May work with consultants, interns, or external agencies to expand capacity and support execution – budget permitting.

Requirements

Qualifications:

  • While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to walk and sit. The employee is occasionally required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and taste or smell. The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.   • Education and/or Experience Bachelor's degree in Marketing or Communications preferred and/or four or more years related experience and/or training. Experience with Microsoft Office, Mailchimp, Donorbox (or alternative), WordPress, and various social media platforms. Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, and Figma design tools preferred. Educational qualifications may be waived depending on work history.
  • Reasoning Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Professional Licenses, Certificates, Registrations Valid Michigan Driver’s License
  • Other Qualifications Must be willing to work occasional evenings and weekends as needed to complete the requirements of the position.
  • Language Skills Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public. Exceptional writing abilities and impeccable attention to detail are essential to this role.
  • Mathematical Skills Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
