Job Description
KeenLogic is seeking a Digital Communications Assistant to join our team on Capitol Hill working with the CAO and Marketing team at the U.S House of Representatives. This is full-time position offering full health benefits, PTO, 401k, and monthly reimbursements for travel. This is an on-site role Monday-Friday.


Background


The Office of the Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) exists as a non-partisan, non-legislative office that provides support services and business solutions to the community of 12,000+ House Members, Officers and staff. CAO professional, technical, and administrative staff provide finance, information technology, cyber security, procurement, logistics, and human resource services. Specific Business Units include Acquisitions Management, Customer Experience Center, Finance, House Information Resources, House Recording Studio, Human Resources, Logistics and Support, and Media Galleries.


The Customer Experience Center communicates, markets, brands, and delivers customer service to the House community. Customer Experience Management establishes and leads key efforts to expand and implement the customer experience vision of the CAO, create standards, and craft a roadmap for the governance and improvement of all CAO services. This position serves as Project Manager.


Responsibilities:


  • Assisting the editorial team members with pulling analytics reports.
  • Assisting the Communications Director with website updates.
  • Assisting with planning campaigns and coordinating with other CAO departments.
  • Supporting the work of the Communications & Marketing team.
  • Collaborate with the CAO Communications and Marketing Team to ensure consistency in branding and style.
  • Keeping communications & marketing materials current (frame signs, posters, & other printed materials).
  • Monitoring and routing incoming requests from CAO departments for editorial and graphic design support.
  • Responsible for posting marketing materials around campus.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Participating in special projects and performs other official duties as assigned.
  • Assisting the team with proofreading newsletters and other communications materials.


Experience/Requirements:


  • Experience with event, conference, and/or meeting management.
  • Self-starter; adaptable to change; motivated to set personal and program goals and proactively track performance against goals and initiatives.
  • Exceptional writing, organizational skills, and attention to detail.
  • Must have demonstrated proficiency in creating concise copy.
  • Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint). Understanding of Microsoft Office 365 is desired.
  • Must have solid understanding of current web trends, social media, and the U.S. House of Representatives.
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite preferred.
  • Knowledge and experience in the development and implementation of communication plans.
  • Experience with executive writing, brand development, marketing, digital communications, and graphic design.
  • Proven ability to facilitate working sessions and promote collaboration.
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal); Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical colleagues and leaders.
  • Experience working with and reviewing analytic reports.
  • Experience developing communications materials such as talking points, infographics, and media clips.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, Advertising, Marketing; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 3 years’ experience in a communications role on Capitol Hill, advertising agency, a media organization, or within a marketing communications department.
