Position Title: DIETARY MANAGER
Reports To: Administrator
Job Summary:
Supervise the dietary staff to assist in promoting a culture of excellence in the facility. Control,
organize, plan and lead your team towards the creation of healthy and delicious culinary
creations for residents of varying ages and diverse backgrounds. Maintain an attitude that
provides excellent customer service to all residents, families and staff while promoting the
company’s pillars of strength.

Responsibilities:
Health and Safety
1) Ensure that all food/dietary processes and procedures are followed in accordance with
state and federal regulations including both fire and health
2) Assure sanitation, housekeeping and safety standards are followed
3) Ensure that safety regulations and precautions are followed at all times
4) Maintain confidentiality of all pertinent patient information included protected health
information
5) Understand and adheres to organizational compliance and privacy programs
6) Performs any miscellaneous work assignments as may be required
Supervision of Department
1) Develop cooking assignments for various members of your staff and oversee their work
2) Ensure food is prepared and served timely and economically
3) Track and monitor methods for food preparation, portion sizes, and presentation to
minimize waste and make sure that guests are presented with food that tastes and
looks delicious
4) Schedule and receive deliveries of food and beverage supplies, ensuring that all
contents delivered match the content and quantities on each order form
5) Plan and switch up menus on a regular basis while ensuring that fresh ingredients are
utilized during appropriate seasons
6) Examine and respond appropriately to complaints regarding menu offerings, service,
quality or accommodations
7) Review financial transactions and monitor payroll and budgetary records

Job Requirements:
1) Education: High school diploma/GED, ability to read and write in English, CDM
certification
2) Experience: 1 year experience, preferred ServSafe certification, experience with menu
planning software, knowledge of state and federal food regulations
3) Physical Demands: Lifting up to 50 pounds max. of food supplies and other goods;
Walking and/or standing for long periods of time, reaching, seeing, stooping, smelling,
depth perception, color vision, pushing, kneeling
4) Travel: Not applicable
5) Working Conditions: Considerable exposure to disagreeable conditions including
extreme temperature changes from excessive heat in cooking area to freezing
temperatures in walk-in freezers.
6) Principal Contacts: Residents, families and facility staff
7) General Requirements: Must be able to execute the terms and conditions set forth in
the employee handbook, including, but not limited to:
a) Works in a safety-conscious manner, which ensures that safe work practices are
used in order to not pose a risk to self or others in the workplace. Reports any safety
violations or hazards to supervisor
b) Complies with company policies and procedures and local, state, and federal
regulations
c) Adheres to policy on Drug-Free Workplace
d) Interacts in a tactful, diplomatic, and humanistic manner with patients, families,
visitors, and co-workers to provide a safe, efficient, and therapeutically effective
caring environment which ensures the self-respect, personal dignity, rights, and
physical safety of each patient and facility guest
e) Maintains a dependable attendance record and adheres to standards of cleanliness,
grooming, hygiene, and dress code
