Job Description
  • Assists in dish washing and other clean up, helps co-workers whenever possible.
  • Certification/Licensure: Serve Safe certificate preferred.
  • Alerts supervisor to problems and needs concerning equipment and food supplies. Detects and reports spoiled or unattractive food, defective supplies, equipment or other unusual conditions.
  • Maintains a positive and professional approach with coworkers and customers.
  • Participates in opening and closing responsibilities.
  • Education: High school diploma or a GED is strongly preferred.
  • KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/LICENSURE
  • Ensures that all required sanitary levels are maintained throughout the food preparation process.
  • Performs cashier duties as assigned, and addresses any overage or shortages within established guidelines .
  • REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS
  • Maintains a clean and organized work area. Responsible for meeting Manchester Board of Health, Stage, and TJC standards.
  • Ensures that all foods prepared meet existing standards for quality, freshness, taste, and appearance.
  • Uses a variety of kitchen utensils and equipment including slicers, mixers, blenders, grill, toaster , cash register, processors, and frappe machine.
  • Exercises care in the operation and use of equipment and reference materials.
  • Preforms general routine and non-routine cleaning duties. Maintains work area in a clean and orderly manner.
  • Other:
  • Performs a variety of duties relating to the provision of meals to patients and customers and nourishments to patients.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective communications and positive working relationships within the department, with other employees, and the public.
  • Uses FIFO standards when utilizing food supplies.
  • Ensures that equipment and utensils used are inspected and maintained for cleanliness and proper operation.
  • Experience: Previous patient experience preferred.
  • Operates and safety uses all types of food service production equipment.
  • POSITION SUMMARY- 40 hours per week
  • Software/Hardware:
  • Participates in opening and closing responsibilities.
  • Sets up salad bar area maintaining par levels and communicate with Supervisor for additional items to be prepped.
  • Follows proper food handling techniques using HACCP standards. Records food and food storage temperatures as required.
  • Ability to proceed alone following standard practices for routine procedures, and refer questions or problems to supervisor.
  • Ensures that all cooking equipment and utensils used are inspected and maintained for cleanliness and proper operation. Maintains work area in a clean and orderly manner.
  • Schedule: Variable, every other weekend, 5:30 am to 7:30pm, possible 3rd shift, rotating major holidays.
  • OTHER REQUIREMENTS
  • Participates in role in fire safety, quality management, food safety, disaster plan, accident prevention and reporting, and infection control.
