Job Description
Senior DevOps Infrastructure Engineer
AutoStore Retail is building the next generation SaaS platform for grocery retailers. We help grocers embrace state-of-the-art technology in order to create first-class online experiences for their customers and increase efficiency within their warehouse operation. As part of this, we provide our clients with a full set of applications ranging from e-Commerce websites, mobile/tablet apps, customer and order management systems, meal/recipe planning tools, and warehouse picking solutions.
Our team offers a great mix of craftsmanship (i.e. solving problems in rigorous ways) and creativity (i.e. exploring interesting problems with R&D, prototypes, etc). In the former category, we have invested in good tools, we aim to release features frequently, and we take the time to ensure our products are well tested and well documented. In the latter category, we nurture a learning environment through Lunch n’ Learns, we leverage a version of Google’s 20% time for

What skills are we looking for
We are a nimble team and looking for a colleague with a wide mix of skill sets regarding Infrastructure management, automation, production engineering, and supporting development teams in creating strong release and deployment pipelines. You are not only a contributor, but also likely to shape and lead the overall DevOps and release strategy.
The ideal candidate has experience in building infrastructure for scalable multi-tier cloud-based applications with frequent releases (and rollbacks), and with detailed monitoring and alerting. You understand the many risks and complexities around running and deploying microservices, load testing, managing databases, security monitoring, operational monitoring, and alerting. You stay very close to the software development and can help with designing and troubleshooting our many integrations such as data pipeline integrations with third-party applications (payment gateway, analytics providers, content providers, Point of Sales systems)

Skills
  • Strong knowledge and hands-on experience with deployment pipelines, Kubernetes, Docker CI/CD, and tools like Github, Jenkins, and CircleCI.
  • Experience with Azure, some AWS experience is a nice to have
  • Strong networking, Linux administration, and database management skills. We would like to keep our infrastructure tight and clean.
  • Ability to set up a disaster recovery strategy and identify needs for backups, extra resilience, or failover within our infrastructure.
  • Experience setting up operational processes to support application deployments, monitoring, and alerting.
  • Experience using Terraform
  • Scripting experience in languages to automate tasks
  • Experience with Docker based deployments
What extra skills are useful?
  • Experience with Terraform
  • Experience with setting up API gateways
  • Experience with RESTful API integrations and developing express applications
  • Background in software development (e.g. Nodejs and/or .NET) is a plus

Benefits and Compensation:
Compensation: 120,000-155,000
