A Top Hedge Fund in Greenwich, CT is looking for a mid-senior level Lead Desktop / Infrastructure Engineer. You will be the Lead Engineer responsible for the entire Desktop and Infrastructure Engineering. You will Support the Trading Desk and Research Team in a high paced high performance environment. In addition to being the Desktop and Infrastructure Engineer you will help expand their AWS production environment.
The role is on-site in Greenwich, CT 5 days a week (one day possible in New York City). Please, only candidates local to Greenwich (25-35 mile radius) apply.

A Top-tier hedge fund in Greenwich is seeking a highly qualified IT person to join our infrastructure team. Reporting directly to the Director of Information Technology, this candidate will serve as the Greenwich office infrastructure leader, providing desktop and infrastructure support primarily for the headquarters of our investment and trading operations. This role is 5 days a week in the Greenwich office.
Immediate priorities for the group include optimizing and expanding our Amazon Web Services (AWS) production and Disaster Recovery deployments, and managing our recent Office 365 (O365) deployment. Successful candidates will have had exposure to at least one of these areas:
- Microsoft System administration including O365, AWS cloud, security, compliance, networks, servers, Cisco Call Manager, and all related infrastructure skill sets are also highly desirable.
Candidates must be organized, responsible, heavily hands on eager to learn in a fast paced environment. This position is a great opportunity to work with some of the most relevant technologies related to supporting an established financial firm. Project management and documentations skills are a must.
Ideal candidate should be well versed in security and help evaluate, purchase, deploy, document, and maintain all aspects of the firm technology infrastructure. Relevant certifications are desirable.
Responsibilities:
· Provide desktop, server, administration, and support for PC & Apple devices.
· Assist in the oversight & management of AWS cloud infrastructure.
· Administer O365 system.
· Manage IBM BigFix for patch management.
· Manage Varonis active directory and O365 auditing.
· Monitor and troubleshoot circuit issues: Internet, SIP Trunks, MPLS, Direct Connects, and VPNs.
· Install, upgrade, and configure network printing, directory structures, user rights, security, and miscellaneous applications on Microsoft Windows Workstations and Servers.
· Administrate Symantec Endpoint Antivirus, and CRMs like ACT and Backstop.
· Full understanding of DNS, DHCP, and Active Directory and administration.
· Administrate Citrix DaaS deployment.
· Administrate network appliances: Cisco, Meraki, , and Palo Alto Networks.
· Install and upgrade hardware (desktops, servers, network components, printers, accessories).
· Perform tests of all preventative procedures and processes (backups, restores, business continuity, antivirus, and automatic updates).
· Experience with voicemail and telephone support on a clustered Cisco Call Manager.
· Trading ringdown management and support.
· Handheld device support (iPhone, iPad, Android,).
Education / Experience:
Four-year college degree plus four to six years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Other Requirements:
· Strong written/oral communications at all levels of business and management required.
· Works well in a team environment.
· Strong knowledge of Windows server and desktop architecture required.
· Microsoft Active Directory and administration is required.
· AWS (Cloud) Administration and design is a plus.
· Office 365 migration and or administration is required.
· Knowledge in Citrix DaaS or XenApp.
· Ability to assess and react to rapid technological change.
· Ability to work exceptionally well in a cross functional and team-oriented environment.
· Able to effectively handle daily stress levels, complexity, volume and diversity of customer and team member inquiries.
· Must be able to multi-task and handle strict spur of the moment deadlines.
· Demonstrated success in supporting senior level executives.
· Must be able to prioritize and work well under pressure.
