Designer - Virtual Builds

JOB DUTIES: The Design Engineer - Virtual Builds is an integral member of the design and development team reporting to the Engineering Business Systems Department Lead. Emphasis of this position is on creating and maintaining the Engineering configurations for all equipment designed in Jackson and maintaining the visualizations of these models for use to all consumers of the visualization data.

• The Design Engineer - Virtual Builds works closely with the Platform Project Engineers to create and maintain the Engineering vehicle configurations.

• Supports the sales configuration team as customer options are established.

• Reviews ECNs (Engineering Change Notices) to ensure that all light weight visualizations are published correctly and that all assembly structures are complete and in sync in PDM (Product Data Management) system before being released to production. This may also include performing large assembly interference analysis.

• Prepares 3D models for design reviews and runs the presentation of those models. This may also include managing Virtual Reality sessions for design reviews, voice of customer events, etc.

• Builds configured 3D models for use in Prototype builds, Sales and Marketing renderings for sales literature or training materials and exporting CAD data for scale model creation.

• Overseeing the publishing of 3D lightweight models within the PDM system, making sure all components are visible in structure views, fixing visualizations or writing Engineering Change Requests as necessary.

• Manages the CAD data and other required materials for projects requiring resources from outside of the organization.

• Supporting use of the 3D printer. General support for the CAD and PDM administration and the ECN Team.

• May be called upon from time to time to join in AGCO global standard committees.

• Perform other duties as assigned.

BACKGROUND / EXPERIENCE:

• Technical degree in mechanical drafting or 5 years of equivalent experience in a related field.

• CAD training or experience, preferably in Creo.

• Training or experience in Windchill or an equivalent PDM system.

• Organization and problem solving skills.

• Must have good mechanical aptitude and good communication skills.

• Experience with Project Link is preferred.

• Large assembly management skills are preferred.

• Some travel, including international travel, may be required.
