Hiring for a manufacturer of Rugged, Mission Ready Displays, Computers and Panel PCs and we’ve been building units for the US Armed Forces since 2002.

: Work with Manufacturing Engineering, Design Engineering, and Production to implement ECN/ECR’s. Assures all parts on the business

affected by ECN’s have visibility /Sign Off to the ECN/ECR Assist Design Engineering on implementing all required changes to released drawings under ECN control. Methodical, accurate and process oriented, those are quality aspects that will be valued on this job in order to support clean documentation and covering ECN/ECR and any other process defined to manage technical data.

Responsibilities

• Production Prototype builds.
• Coordinates design criteria with engineering, tooling, material, and planning group in accordance with client standards and direction.
• Work with engineers to find good compromises between design constraints and IPC standards as well as the ability to learn the language of electronic design including good electronic layout practices for proper placement and layout of typical designs.
• Creating diagrams and layouts to illustrate the assembly workflow of products.
• Documentation of Redline Engineering Drawings from Protype Builds.
• Documentation Management - Maintain compliance of engineering documentation.
• Documenting & Updating Work Instructions.

• Collecting all documentation and materials required for ECN/ECR’s.
• Test products or subassemblies for factuality and/or quality.
• Perform test to complete mechanical, electrical/optical assemblies using calibrated tools and test equipment.
• Designs components or portions of systems and modifies existing designs to develop or improve them. Responsible for assisting with the drafting/design effort on projects under supervision of more senior designers or engineers.
• Build product subassembly – final assembly troubleshoot issues with equipment devices or products.
• Process and track changes to engineering data (e.g. ECN, BOM/Item requests).
• Drafting designs using computer-aided design (CAD) software.
• Work with engineers to ensure designs are prepared for Manufacturing and assembly.
• Work closely with the electrical engineers and mechanical engineers to develop boards and layout meeting the expected electrical and mechanical characteristics, exercising considerable judgment in design and layout.

Requirements/Qualifications

• At least 2 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment or a similar role.
• Working knowledge of CAD software, drawing programs, and 3D modeling tools, such as SolidWorks.
• Knowledge of Electronic components and maintenance of master parts entry database with compliance to Engineering documentation control and IPC standards.
• Excellent knowledge of electrical/mechanical and engineering design principles.
• An Associate degree in engineering, design, or a similar field, BS is a plus.
• Knowledge of design techniques, tools and production of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models.

Skills

• Strong customer service skills managing multiple clients in a high-volume and fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• ISO 9001; AS9100 background a plus
• Detailed knowledge of Military Standards and practices related to quality planning.
• Detailed knowledge and experience in design for manufacture and assembly concepts
