General Summary
Oversees, guides, and supports workers engaged in inventory and vendor supply management activities. Directs purchasing of products for sale to customers. Evaluates, analyzes, recommends, designs, develops, and implements inventory and vendor supply management policies, procedures, techniques, short- and long-term plans, day-to-day operational strategies and guidelines.
Principle Duties And Responsibilities
  • Monitors product sales and inventory and develops and communicates short-and long-term product purchasing plans with vendors and staff.
  • Directs purchasing of products for sale to customers. Activities include evaluating, monitoring, forecasting, and reporting on key performance indicators (KPIs) (e.g., in-stock items, fill rate, sales, supply chain activity, cash flow, etc.), inventory budget and in-stock items.
  • Evaluates, analyzes, recommends, designs, develops and implements inventory and vendor supply management policies, procedures, techniques, short- and long-term plans, day-to-day operational strategies and problem-solving approaches, and guidelines, and coordinates the evaluation and implementation of information technology used to support inventory and vendor supply management activities.
  • Develops and implements plans and operational approaches to support key inventory KPIs (e.g., distribution center and store service levels, shelf stock-outs, etc.).
  • Confers and communicates with store leaders and staff on inventory and vendor supply management activities.
  • Monitors and reports on product sales, purchasing activity, planograms, product pricing, promotional plans, etc. and identifies trends.
  • Provides supervision to assigned staff: includes activities such as hiring, counseling, guiding, training and delivery of disciplinary processes as required.
  • Determines demand planning parameters for demand planning performance indicators (including forecast accuracy and promotional forecast accuracy) and tactical considerations (e.g., store forecasts, distribution center forecasts, assortment planning, seasonal profiles, product lifestyle management, promotion analysis, and collaborative vendor forecasting).
  • Develops, distributes, and delivers reports and presentations on inventory and vendor supply management activities.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Finance, Accounting, Merchandising, Supply Chain or a related field and a minimum of 5-8 years of progressively responsible, professional relevant merchandising or supply chain and/or retail experience or CPG inventory management, including 2 years of direct managerial experience, or an equivalent combination of education, experience and/or training.
  • Experience with complex product sourcing and planogram-based replenishment.
  • Proven track record of successfully leading teams and improving inventory productivity and overall SKU (stock keeping unit) profitability while maintaining high service levels in shelf in-stock.
  • Knowledge of forecasting and replenishment systems and related processes.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively across multi-functional teams with finesse
  • Knowledge of merchandising and operations processes and the interrelationships of vendors, merchants, marketing, space planning and field operations.
  • Strong interpersonal and judgment skills required to influence internal and external teams.
  • Experience with managing open-to-buy plans at the category level.

The pay range(s) below are provided in compliance with state specific laws. Pay ranges may be different in other locations.
$119,300.00 - $178,900.00
Exact rate of pay will be based on position, location, and experience level.
