This position at YPPS (Yale Printing & Publishing Services) drives a YPPS vehicle and is responsible to fulfill pickup and delivery requests as required to service the needs of the Yale community in a fast-paced, service-oriented environment. Performs inventory and warehouse responsibilities as required.

Deliver supplies, production materials, mail, and completed work requests to and from internal Yale departments and customers daily. Load and unload materials for deliveries from YPPS to warehouse, post office and vendors. Drive various delivery vehicles equipped with hydraulic lifts. Run electronic forklift and pallet jack. Assist with maintenance of inventory, supplies and equipment at on-site and off-site locations. May receive incoming orders from vendors, ensure accuracy of deliveries, and sign off on receivers. Follow inventory procedures and assist with monthly physical count. Manage multiple work requests and deadline requirements simultaneously. Maintain a calm and cool demeanor under pressure of competing responsibilities. Deliver excellent customer service and represent YPPS well in the Yale community. May make essential, sensitive pick-ups and deliveries. Work with production staff and management to communicate customer needs and resolve job and delivery-related issues. Must have basic computer skills to log packages and deliveries in tracking system. Ensure delivery vehicles are clean inside and out, and report any maintenance issues in a timely manner. Other essential duties as necessary.

1. As part of the delivery services, provides general customer service support to clients on an as-needed basis. Addresses requests/concerns or refers clients to the appropriate person. 2. Reviews and verifies accuracy of job tickets and other office documentation. Sorts and prioritizes items for delivery. Receives, sorts, prioritizes and processes orders for delivery. 3. Drives vehicle for pick-up and delivery services. Delivers items to specific locations. Maintains the order of work area and vehicle. May repair vehicle. 4. Performs clerical function incidental to delivery activities, including maintaining and logging orders for pickup and delivery.

Two years of related work experience and a high school level education, or an equivalent combination of experience and education.

Valid driver's license. Ability to multi-task and work effectively in a fast-paced environment under pressure of meeting deadlines.

Ability to work off-hours and weekends occasionally, and conform to flexible work schedule. Demonstrated track record of good attendance and punctuality.

Ability to walk to various campus locations and stand for extended periods of time during a significant portion of each day.

Ability to follow written and verbal direction, stay organized and meet deadlines. Basic computer skills to log deliveries in a ticketing system.

Demonstrated ability to interact and communicate tactfully and effectively with a diverse range of people.

Ability to operate moving equipment such as pallet jacks, delivery carts, and delivery hand trucks. Ability to load and unload delivery trucks and pull inventory items for supply orders. Must be able to push, pull and lift up to 75 pounds.
