As a Starbucks Decision Scientist, you will be responsible for technical management of the large amounts of data required for the strategic pricing team to optimize their impact on the business. You will be interested in leveraging your SQL and python coding skills to create and maintain high-quality data workflows, reporting, and assisting with strategic modeling and analysis.

As a decision scientist, you will…

• Create Tableau dashboards and other visualization tools to provide strategic benefit to the team and business stakeholders.
• Work with non-technical stakeholders to understand business requirements and implement solutions that are widely accessible
• Assist senior team members with pricing models / analysis and write data queries to answer pricing and other business relevant questions.
• Create and maintain stable ETL pipelines between various data systems and sources (relational databases, API’s, Excel spreadsheets) using SQL, python, and pyspark

We’d Love To Hear From People With

Education: BA/BS concentration preferred with discipline in Stats, Math, Comp Sci, Engineering, Economics, Psychology, Quantitative Social Science or similar

• Working knowledge of statistics, machine learning, and visualization (Tableau)
• Ability to deliver well written, reliable, and supportable code for data ETL pipelines
• Years of experience in specific field or utilizing designated skills: Minimum 1 years’ Experience
• Practice of good software engineering practices including Git and PEP8
• Retail, customer loyalty, or eCommerce experience preferred
• Strong coding skills: python (required), SQL (required), and pySpark (preferred)
