: Supervise children consistently and appropriately • Interact with children at eye-level • Verbally interact with children during routines • Participate in children’s play when appropriate • Offer children opportunities for decision making and choices • Follow through consistently with behavior guidance techniques • Use positive words when giving directions • Serve as a model for children • Assist in carrying out appropriate daily activities • Respond to children’s verbal and nonverbal communication • Is supportive of parents in the care and development of their child • Keeps parents informed of child’s daily activities and progress, shares information about center events, etc. • Demonstrates tact, compassion and empathy during interactions with parents • Seeks partnership with parents • Maintains positive and professional relationship with staff • Accepts share of responsibility and tasks assigned • Gracefully accepts suggestions and constructive criticism from other staff members • Shares ideas and materials
