The Database Developer designs stable and reliable databases. This role is also responsible for developing, testing, improving and maintaining new and existing databases to help users retrieve data effectively. As part of our IT team, the Database Developer will work closely with analysts, and developers to ensure system consistency. The role will also collaborate with system administrators and stakeholders to provide technical support and recommendations. Communication and organization skills are keys for this position, along with a problem-solving attitude. Ultimately, the role will ensure our database systems run effectively and securely on a daily basis. The Database Developer will create robust solutions that are impervious to hacking and other security breaches and have the ability to resolve all performance-related issues as they occur.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
• Proven work experience as a Database developer
• In-depth understanding of data management (e.g. permissions, recovery, security and monitoring)• Knowledge of software development and user interface web applications
• Familiarity working with .Net Framework, JavaScript, HTML and Oracle• Excellent analytical and organization skills
- An ability to understand front-end users requirements and a problem-solving attitude
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrable experience as a database developer
.• Portfolio of previous developments is preferred
.• Advanced proficiency in SQL, C++, or Java, and XML with a preference for more than one of these.

Job duties & Responsibilities:
- Oversee the migration of data from legacy systems to new solutions.
- Develop technical and training manuals
- Optimize and maintain legacy systems
- Reviewing each development to detect and amend coding and typographical errors, as well as bugs.
- Design and implement effective database solutions and models to store and retrieve company data.
- Formulating data dictionaries that are congruent with task specifications.
- Configuring databases such that they are able to withstand attacks and the loss of information.
- Ensure all database programs meet company and performance requirements

- Solve database usage issues and malfunctions
- Research and suggest new database products, services and protocols
- Creating technical documents that outline the purpose, capacity, and guidelines attached to each database.
- Monitor the system performance by performing regular tests, troubleshooting, and integrating new features.
- Recommend solutions to improve new and existing database systems
- Offer support by responding to system problems in a timely manner.
- Design stable, reliable and effective databases
- Examine and identify database structural necessities by evaluating client operations, applications, and programming.
- Providing practical guidance on the use and migration of each database.
- Modify databases according to requests and perform tests
- Liaise with developers to improve applications and establish best practices
- Prepare accurate database design and architecture reports for management and executive teams.
- Provide data management support to users

- Gather user requirements and identify new features
- Assess database implementation procedures to ensure they comply with internal and external regulations.
Education Requirements and Preference:
- PREFERRED Computer Science or Management Information Systems preferred
- REQUIRED Bachelor's Degree
Required Experience:
- 8 years professional technology experience.
