Position Title:
Database and Web Support Specialist

Department: Information Technology

Reports To: IT Director

Salary Range: $30,000 - $60,000

Position Type: Non-Exempt

Schedule: 12 months

MAJOR FUNCTION:

The full-time Database and Web Support Specialist will work with staff, students, parents, and community members of the Pueblo School for Arts and Sciences to ensure a positive experience in the use of all school technology-related software. This includes all administration of PSAS Databases, such as PowerSchool, Clever, Schoology, Licensing, etc. The Database and Web Support Specialist creates content using different mediums for communication and monitors activity using web-based analytic tools. The Database and Web Support Specialist role is responsible for assisting in all system implementations and training for staff, parents, and community members. This position will support all schools within the PSAS Charter and will perform on-site consultations as needed.


Customer service is a vital part of the success of PSAS IT. Job Duties – 60%

  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Cross-trains with all other members of the IT department in order to support all areas of the IT Dept.
  • Provide excellent customer service that is kind courteous, timely, efficient, and solution-oriented to all (staff, students, parents & guests) end users.
  • Aids other members of the Information Technology Department as required.
  • Develop and maintain appropriate user groups granting database permissions to ensure compliance with FERPA and other legislative requirements.
  • Provide information and training remotely to school staff on the use of various technologies, student information systems, and technical procedures/processes.
  • Serves as the student information system (SIS) administrator and oversees all functionality of SIS and SIS extensions.
  • Maintains all nodes of the PSAS Website to include, including updates, certificate maintenance, and establishing PSAS web presence
  • Respond to IT Help Desk inquiries or assist with coverage as needed.
  • Assist in analyzing federal and state accountability.


Job Duties – 40%

  • Knowledgeable with the Adobe Suite of tools such as Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Lightroom, and Adobe Premiere.
  • Creates PSAS templates for internal and external use. Templates include slideshow presentations, video templates, blog templates, etc.
  • Creates content and provides a format for the community to engage with PSAS via the PSAS Blog.
  • Works with PSAS web host provider to ensure reliable uptime and security of the PSAS Website.
  • Builds out social media platforms for PSAS to include but not limited to: Facebook, YouTube, Instagram, Twitter, Linkedin, Glassdoor, etc.
  • Assists all staff with public-facing communications and creates a positive image of PSAS Happenings.
  • Maintains internal/external communications tools such as Instant Messaging Software, PSAS Blog, Phone Tree, Website, Help Documentation, etc.
  • Works with all PSAS staff, committees, and parent groups to create content and guidance for all public-facing media.


Note: This position requires the ability to work occasional evenings to support all programs. You must be able to work these hours to be considered for this position.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:


MINIMUM REQUIRED:

  • Associates Degree or equivalent experience in Information Technology


PREFERRED:

  • Training and experience with computer equipment, software, and peripherals
  • Proficiency with hosted web servers such as Wix
  • PowerSchool SIS experience
  • Valid Colorado driver's license
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud Suite and Products
  • Experience working with Google Platform
