Job Description
Enterprise Data Governance is responsible for understanding, analyzing, measurement and improvement plans for assigned data assets. The group interfaces with all business, operational and technology areas to develop and execute data improvement plans using automated solutions with use of manual intervention when necessary.
In this role, you will work in partnership with MDLive business stakeholders and technical partners to execute our enterprise-wide data governance strategy for the organization. Understanding and enhancing current data governance strategy, refreshing data policies, establishing data standards, executing data governance operating model, and consistently applying data governance processes across the organization will be the key initial expectations.
Responsibilities include:
  • Responsible and accountable for monitoring the ongoing quality of data in their domain
  • Contribute to documenting and implementing data quality standards
  • Ensure data sharing and information principles, standards; controls are in compliance with the enterprise and government regulations.
  • Advance the adoption of data standards and agreed data management processes
  • Document and gain agreement for data definitions, control processes, business rules, measures and metrics across their data domain
  • Identify and resolve data related issues; report, escalate and monitor data issues as needed
  • Drive development of business requirements and engage appropriate technical resources to produce detailed and thorough business, data and information policies and related documents.
  • Facilitate integration with core processes and enterprise initiatives
  • Develop best practices, and/or knowledge content, for enterprise audience to ensure data sharing governance and management guidelines are developed and aligned with enterprise guidelines and data governance strategy.
  • Participate in Data Governance Board meetings, when appropriate
  • Serve as the communication point between data product workgroups, data management teams and other business operational stakeholders to ensure enterprise or business are compliant with EDG Policy.
  • Consult with Operational system leads to recommend data quality improvements to increase efficiency.
  • Communicate requirements and limitations for access and use of data in their domain
To be successful in this role, you'll have the following:
  • 5+ years of experience in the healthcare industry with a focus on data management and stewardship
  • Team player with proven ability to manage relationships within a matrix organization
  • Familiarity with the agile methodology a plus
  • Bachelor's Degree required, Master's Degree strongly preferred
  • SQL, Microsoft SQL Server, Teradata experience
  • Comfortable working across several initiatives at the same time
  • Strong business, analytic and synthesizing skills
  • Strong business acumen
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Data mining skills of SQLServer Platform
