What you’ll do:


  • Perform exploratory data analysis (EDA) to gain insights into patterns, trends, and relationships within the data
  • Identify and engineer relevant features from structured and unstructured health data sources
  • Stay up to date with the latest advancements in machine learning, healthcare informatics, and related fields to drive innovation and ensure the adoption of best practices
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including data scientists, clinicians, researchers, and IT professionals, to define project goals, data requirements, and model deployment strategies
  • Communicate complex technical concepts and findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders through reports, presentations, and visualizations
  • Optimize and fine-tune machine learning models for improved performance, scalability, and interpretability
  • Analyze and preprocess large-scale health-related datasets to extract relevant information and identify data quality issues
  • Design and develop machine learning models to solve complex health-related problems, such as predictive analytics, risk stratification, disease diagnosis, and treatment optimization
  • Collaborate with domain experts to validate and interpret model results in the context of healthcare
  • Design appropriate evaluation metrics and methodologies to assess the performance and generalizability of machine learning models
  • Implement various machine learning algorithms and techniques, including supervised and unsupervised learning, deep learning, and natural language processing (NLP)
  • Develop data visualization techniques to effectively communicate findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Validate models using statistical techniques, cross-validation, and hypothesis testing


What you’ll need:


Required Qualifications


  • Master's or Ph.D. degree in computer science, data science, bioinformatics, or a related field.


Knowledge, Skills, Abilities


  • Proficiency in using machine learning libraries/frameworks (e.g., scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch)
  • Strong programming skills in languages such as Python or R
  • Familiarity with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, matplotlib, Plotly) and SQL databases
  • Experience with healthcare datasets is highly desirable
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively in multidisciplinary teams
  • In-depth knowledge of machine learning algorithms, statistical analysis, and data mining techniques
  • Demonstrated ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions and deliver high-quality results within given timelines


Experience


  • Proven experience as a Data Scientist or Machine Learning Engineer in the healthcare domain.
