Data Scientist Jobs

Develops predictive models and conducts data mining and analytics to influence strategic decisions through Paychex. Researches and understands specific business needs related to the necessary data being sought and conducts interviews with business owners to innovate solutions.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with engineering team to bring analytical prototypes to production
• Design accurate and scalable prediction algorithms
• Explores and gathers external data, analyzes data, and develops reporting systems, including both public and private sectors, to complement internal company data and reporting related to Operations, Sales, Marketing, Risk Management, IT, and HR.
• Generate actionable insights for business improvements
• Analyze raw data: assessing quality, cleansing, structuring for downstream processing
• Develops and implements data driven AI/ML predictive models covering different areas of the company, including Operations, Sales, Marketing, Risk Management, IT, and HR, to monitor business trends, assess patterns, and bring issues to the attention of the appropriate functional groups.
• Conducts qualitative and quantitative research projects, including identifying the business problem, conducting data exploration, modeling analysis and communication of final results to leadership and other interested parties across the company to improve strategic direction and decision making.
• Works with business partners during model development to understand all aspects of the business, including understanding business issues and priorities, to analytically solve business issues and priorities using cutting edge analytic techniques.
• Explores, validates, and maintains data used for use in analytics, model development and maintenance to improve strategic decision making by leaders and executives related to Operations, Sales, Marketing, Risk Management, IT, and HR.
• Utilizes advanced functionality of SQL Server, VBA, Python, SAS, R, and/or Business Objects to perform data mining and automation. Extracts and houses data from internal Paychex systems.

Qualifications

• 4 years of experience in data mining, data warehousing, AI or predictive modeling.
• Master's Degree - Preferred
• Bachelor's Degree in Analytics, Data Science, Statistics or similar - Required
• Experience with regression, decision tree, XGBoost modeling methods.
