Job Description

Summary

The Audio Analytics team within Audio and Media Technology Group provides insights through data that drive decision-making for our engineering and product partners, and we have been looking for you.

We are looking for a candidate that can derive valuable analytical insights from data and is capable of driving projects of varying sizes and scopes within media, haptics, siri, voice technologies and many other use cases - some will take months and some weeks — and you will need to know when to dive deep! In this role, you will be working daily with engineers and leadership across Apple’s audio teams, helping drive innovation and improve our product decision making process while developing new experimentation methodologies, statistical techniques, and causal-inference approaches.

Key Qualifications

Expertise in extracting insights from large telemetry data sets, more specifically strong programming skills with languages like Python and SQL.
Experience employing analytics/machine learning methodologies to tackle broad problems related to classification, clustering, forecasting and anomaly detection.
Experience articulating and translating business questions, using statistical techniques to reach answers. Experience driving to get data when not readily available a definite plus!
Comfortable working with and delivering difficult technical insights across multiple business teams, including both technical and non-technical partners.
Excellent problem solving, critical thinking, and organizational skills.
A passion for audio, digital signal processing, or related fields highly desired.

Description

In this position, you will work with large, complex, non-relational datasets to conduct end-to-end analysis that includes problem definition, data gathering, exploratory analysis, hypothesis testing and insight communication with stakeholders.

Prototype and productionalize analytical pipelines iteratively to provide insights at scale. Develop comprehensive knowledge of audio data structures and pipelines, advocating for changes where needed for pipeline development .

You will interact cross-functionally with a wide variety of leaders and teams, and work closely with engineers and product managers to assess improvements and make business recommendations for audio products with convincing data-driven storytelling.

And also build, maintain and communicate audio analytics dashboards.

Education & Experience

BS degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Physics or other related field.

Additional Requirements

- Familiarity with Splunk or other monitoring/reporting tools.

- Familiarity with Tableau or other dashboard/visualization tools.

- Experience with distributed computation, storage, and workflow management (Cassandra, Spark, Airflow) desired.
Experience with NoSQL databases a plus.

Past experience in the audio domain is preferred, but not required.

Pay & Benefits

At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $121,000 and $230,000, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
